Salary: $95,043 to $113,066 per year, plus bonus
Bonus: Up to 10% of base salary per year, tied to performance Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am to 5pm

JOB SUMMARY

The Hospice / Palliative Care Business Development Manager leads TRU Community Care's Hospice and Palliative Care business development team and is responsible for driving referral growth, territory performance, and census growth. This position coaches and develops business development staff, manages territory and account strategies, monitors referral and admissions performance, and builds relationships with key healthcare referral sources.

The Manager works closely with Marketing, Intake, Admissions, Clinical Operations, and other departments to remove referral barriers, improve the referral-to-admission process, and execute approved growth strategies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Lead, coach, and develop the Hospice and Palliative Care Business Development team.
  • Set and manage individual and team referral, activity, conversion, and census goals.
  • Develop and manage territory plans, account priorities, and outreach strategies.
  • Monitor CRM activity, referral volume, admissions, conversion rates, lost referrals, census, and territory performance.
  • Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to improve referral and admission results.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, one-on-one coaching, pipeline reviews, and performance discussions.
  • Provide field coaching and support business development staff in developing referral relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with hospitals, physician practices, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, home health agencies, senior-serving organizations, and other referral sources.
  • Participate in strategic referral partner meetings, presentations, networking events, and community outreach activities.
  • Ensure the business development team maintains current knowledge of Hospice and Palliative Care eligibility, referral processes, services, and approved messaging.
  • Ensure outreach accurately represents TRU's services, eligibility requirements, service area, capacity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Marketing, Intake, Admissions, Clinical Operations, and Finance to support growth initiatives and address referral barriers.
  • Provide regular reporting on team performance, referral trends, market opportunities, forecasts, and recommended actions.


QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of experience in healthcare sales, provider relations, referral development, or business development required.
  • Hospice, palliative care, home health, senior services, or post-acute care experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory, team leadership, coaching, or performance-management experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice and palliative care eligibility, healthcare referral processes, and Medicare and Medicaid requirements preferred.
  • Experience using CRM systems, performance dashboards, market data, and business development metrics to manage activity and results.
  • Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
  • Ability to manage team performance, territories, pipelines, and referral relationships.
  • Valid driver's license, insurance, and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to travel throughout TRU's service area.
