Full Job Description
JobSummary:

Reportingto the President, the Bilingual Health & Safety Specialist will ensure jobsites comply with federal, state and local safety regulations, to preventaccidents, injuries and fatalities and to foster a culture of safety. Thisperson will conduct site audits, identify hazards, deliver training, manage PPE(personal protective equipment) and investigate incidents. The keyresponsibilities for this role include creating safety policies, enforcingcompliance, conducting risk assessments and maintaining documentation.

Inspections& Audits:

Conductregular site inspections to identify potential hazards, non-conforming work, orfaulty equipment.

ComplianceMonitoring:

Ensurecompliance with OSHA (specifically 29 CFR 1926) regulations, environmentalregulations and company safety policies.

RiskManagement:

Performjob-site hazard analyses and develop risk mitigation plans.

Training& Education:

Developand conduct safety training, including new hire orientations, "Toolbox Talks"and specific safety procedures.

PolicyDevelopment:

Partnerwith project management to develop site-specific health and safety plans(HASPs) and emergency response procedures.

IncidentInvestigation:

Investigateaccidents, near-misses and injuries; prepare incident reports and recommendcorrective actions.

Documentation:

Maintainsafety records, including incident reports, inspection logs and trainingrecords.

SafetyEquipment:

EnsurePersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available and used correctly.

EnvironmentalMonitoring:

Test airquality, noise levels, and hazardous material exposure to ensure levels remainwithin safe legal limits.

Qualifications:

At least3 years of experience in the construction industry as a safety officer orconsultant;

Bachelor'sdegree in Occupational Health & Safety, or related field, preferred;

OSHA 30-hour Construction Certification, required;

OSHA 500/510 Trainer Cards andcredentials such as CHST, OHST, or CSP, desired;

CSP(Certified Safety Professional) desired;

BilingualEnglish - Spanish (oral and written) proficiency, required;

Strongknowledge of construction regulations;

Provenexperience in safety training, ability to perform risk assessments andproficiency in incident reporting software.

Proficiencyin the MS Office suite of products;

Exceptionaloral and written communication and interpersonal skills;

Astutetime management, attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, planning,effective multi-tasking, problem-solving, analytical, follow-through skills;

Abilityto work effectively alone and within a fast-paced, deadline-driven,collaborative team environment;

Abilityto walk long distances, climb ladders and stand for extended periods of time invarious weather conditions.

Valid CAdriver's license, clean and insurable driving record and own vehiclerequired.

Compensation:

$125K -$150K DOE for this full-time, exempt position.
