Lycopodium Americas is currently recruiting for an HSE Advisor for a new Health, Safety, Environment, & Quality team in Mississauga, Ontario.
Reporting to: Group Manager Health, Safety, Environmental, & Quality
The tasks you'll performThe HSE Advisor is responsible for supporting the Group HSEQ Manager in maintaining and reviewing Lycopodium's health, safety, environmental and security policies, procedures, plans and systems.
- Establish and maintain, in conjunction with our Management team, the Health and Safety culture across the Company.
- Clearly communicate health and safety information, issues and initiatives to all parties on a timely basis.
- Assist in the preparation of HSE and security related components of tenders and proposals.
- Prepare and manage Project Health, Safety and Environmental Management Plans and Emergency Response Plans including Client requirements, statutory requirements and ongoing corporate learning's and improvements.
- Maintain compliance and accurate records in accordance with Company standards.
- Notify senior management of material incidents and ensure all incidents are properly closed out across all Projects.
- Monitor the HSE performance of project teams provide input and support where necessary.
- Develop proactive methods of encouraging and rewarding good health and safety culture / behaviour.
- Monitor the Audit and Inspection Schedule and review Project completed audits for quality and completeness
- Conduct internal audits as per the Schedule, and take corrective action where appropriate to rectify deficiencies.
- Liaise with and provide professional support to the Project Services team in the preparation Project deliverables.
- Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance to the Company approved procedures.
- Maintain and administer SAI360 InControl and the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Assist in completing monthly statistics and reporting for projects and subsidiaries.
- Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
- Undertake ad-hoc travel to local or overseas projects as required, to perform HSE duties on-site for those projects.
The expertise you'll bring- Bachelor degree/Diploma or equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
- 5+ post graduate experience ideally working on Mineral Processing Plants or heavy industry capital projects
- Experience with HSE management systems
