Summary:
The Health Informaticist will analyze, design, implement, and evaluate information and communication systems that enhance individual and population health outcomes, improve patient care, and increase health data interoperability across care continuum. This position will assist with informatics projects throughout the Data & Analytics team, coordinating with internal and external partners, as well as adopting relevant informatics methods and conducting data analysis to meet project and grant requirements. This position is not responsible for providing care to patients.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for analyzing business processes and implementing informatics-based solution to improve CyncHealth health data sources for internal and external partners.
- Perform health informatics activities which require specialized knowledge and skills in both health and information technology.
- Assist with the implementation, development and maintenance of health information systems and databases.
- Train and provide assistance to informatics system users; test system usability, quality and integrity of data, perform data exports and reporting, evaluate usage and assess overall efficiency of collecting, analyzing, and reporting electronic data.
- Develop and assess data collection and reporting techniques and use of information to improve Clinical/Public Health/Pharmacy/Population Health/Community outcomes as assigned.
- Develop and update data specifications and requirements necessary to the integration of data into CyncHealth systems.
- Explore and recommend informatics ideas, processes, and/or procedures for enhancements, additions, and modifications to improve existing systems.
- Serve as an informatics subject matter expert for the assigned business line(s), supporting deliverable execution, and other duties as required to fulfill contractual terms with the states in which CyncHealth operates.
- Collaborate with internal project management and business/product owners to develop actionable strategies for process improvement.
- Attend routine team and status meetings.

Experience and Requirements:
- Master's degree in biomedical informatics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioengineering or equivalent, with an emphasis on Healthcare OR an advanced clinical degree relevant to the business line (ie: a PharmD for Pharmacy, a MPH for public health, etc.) with coursework or experience in healthcare information technology.
- 2 years of experience with healthcare data warehousing, electronic medical records, and data preparation & analysis.
- Knowledge and experience in applying controlled medical terminologies like SNOMEDCT, LOINC, RxNorm, etc. in healthcare.
- Significant experience architecting Data Warehouse solutions within Healthcare and or Life Sciences industries.
- Must have a thorough understanding of clinical information systems, theoretic and applied research and graduate-level educational activities.
- Demonstrated technical abilities in areas including data-driven applications, electronic medical records, etc.
- Strong understanding of interoperability and health data standards
- Strong database programming skills (e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, etc.) as well as data preparation and data analysis skills.
- Experience with statistical tools, data-mining, machine learning, and other modeling and simulation tools.
- Excellent clinical research, analysis & problem-solving skills.
- Current or previous work experience in biostatistics preferred.
- Experience creating and interpreting analytical visualizations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time.
- Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Extended working hours and overnight travel may be necessary.
- Light work requiring exertion up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Ability to work from La Vista, NE office with reliable and predictable attendance.
