Full Job Description
Citi Mortgage is seeking a dynamic and visionary executive to lead our Mortgage Sales division. As the Head of Mortgage Sales, you will provide strategic direction and oversight to a national team, driving client value, leading transformative change, and delivering exceptional results. This influential leader will be at the forefront of innovation, with a key focus on growing the sales team, increasing productivity, advancing our digital mortgage capabilities. You will be responsible for building a best-in-class customer experience and a high-performing sales culture that puts our clients first and solidifies our position as a market leader.

2. Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership & Execution:
    • Develop and execute a nationwide sales strategy to achieve and exceed targets for volume, expense management, quality, and client experience.
    • Drive key strategic initiatives to maximize the growth and profitability of the Mortgage business, ensuring the talent strategy and organizational capabilities are aligned with business goals.
    • Set performance goals and budgets, utilizing key performance metrics to measure and analyze progress.
  • Sales Channel Management:
    • Provide direct leadership and accountability for Direct-to-Consumer Sales and Correspondent with matrix reporting and accountability for both Distributed Retail Sales and Wealth at Work channels.
    • Build and maintain a best-in-class customer experience across all retail mortgage sales touchpoints.
    • Work closely with the Head of Sales Enablement to prioritize and direct resources accordingly.
    • Develop and implement a successful recruitment and retention strategy to grow a high-caliber retail mortgage salesforce.
  • Partnership & Collaboration:
    • Create integrated business plans in partnership with leaders from the Retail Bank and Wealth at Work to drive a multi-relationship client strategy across all retail channels.
    • Partner extensively with fulfillment teams to implement, support, and execute the strategic business plan.
    • Align with other Consumer Sales leaders to identify opportunities for deepening existing customer relationships and expanding client wallet share.
  • Governance & Regulatory Oversight:
    • Protect our clients and the franchise through a relentless commitment to control and governance, built on the highest standard of ethics and responsibility.
    • Manage communications and presentations for internal and external audits and regulatory exams.
  • Market & Industry Expertise:
    • Stay well-versed in the fast-changing, competitive landscape of the mortgage industry, including digital trends, robotics, and new product offerings.
    • Formulate and articulate CitiMortgage's positions on regulatory reform for inclusion in corporate and trade association responses.

3. Qualifications & Experience:
  • Experience: 15+ years of extensive experience in the mortgage industry, with a significant track record in a senior executive sales leadership role.
  • Leadership: 10+ years of demonstrated experience leading large, geographically dispersed sales teams (500+ employees), with a proven ability to build, scale, and retain top talent.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. An MBA is strongly preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Deep expertise in both Distributed Retail and Direct-to-Consumer mortgage sales channels.
    • A proven track record of developing and executing strategies that drive significant sales growth and market share.
    • Strong understanding of the digital transformation occurring in the mortgage space.
    • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory landscape, particularly CRA and Fair Lending requirements.
    • Exceptional financial acumen with experience managing a P&L and complex budgets.
    • Outstanding communication and executive presentation skills, with the ability to influence and build consensus among senior stakeholders.
    • A visionary leader known for driving change, fostering innovation, and building a culture of excellence and accountability.
