Position Summary

Responsible for overseeing the performance, risk management, and strategic direction of the bank's commercial loan portfolio. Managing sound credit practices, regulatory compliance, and asset quality of the portfolio.

Essential Functions
  • Lead the monitoring and management of the commercial loan portfolio, including CRE, C&I, SBA, and other business lending segments.
  • Develop and implement portfolio strategies to ensure the risk ratings reviews are completed in a timely manner.
  • Identify trends, concentrations, emerging risks; recommend proactive measures to mitigate exposure.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of commercial portfolio managers.
  • Ensure adherence to internal credit policies and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintains on-going financial and covenant tracking of the commercial loan portfolio.
  • Partner with commercial lenders to support client relationships and ensure timely and effective portfolio servicing.
  • Engage with borrowers on complex credit matters, renewals, and restructures as needed.
  • Oversee the preparation of portfolio reports for executive management and the board.
  • Analyst portfolio performance metrics, including delinquencies, charge-offs, and risk ratings.
  • Support regulatory exams and internal/external audits with relevant documentation and analysis.
  • Make recommendations to appropriate risk rating changes.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in a financial institution's Commercial Loan department
  • 2 - 4 years of Supervisory skills
  • Extensive knowledge of financial institution's sound lending policies and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of Commercial Real Estate lending practices
  • Knowledge of SBA lending programs preferred, but not required

  • Ability to read, comprehend, analyze, and interpret legal documents, governmental regulations, and professional publications.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence.
  • Ability to speak and write clearly to effectively convey information so that others understand and as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
