Hardware Project Manager - Medical Device (Bedford, MA)

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Project Manager to join a high-performing team focused on Advanced Imaging products in the Philips Image Guided Therapy Devices (IGT-D) business to oversee and coordinate multiple concurrent hardware project workstreams supporting the continued development and commercialization of our growing product portfolio.

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate cross-functional design and operations teams to bring interrelated hardware projects through the full product development lifecycle, from definition through commercialization.
  • Act as a key leadership stakeholder to align development teams on project goals, propose concrete project milestones, and drive accountability of both team members and external partners
  • Provide regularly updated project timelines with appropriate levels of detail for determining key risks and dependencies, tracking project deliverables, and clear ownership
  • Identify and assess project risks and opportunities, developing robust mitigation strategies while fostering a culture of thoughtful risk-taking with escalation to senior management when deemed necessary.
  • Report to the Head of Optical & Systems, Advanced Imaging at Philips IGTD, and work alongside a talented and multidisciplinary team of Systems and Hardware Engineers. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to collaborate cross-functionally with product development, quality, operations, field service, and business stakeholders in this project leadership role.
  • Help with the realization of medical device products that have a real impact on a large patient population, while further developing leadership and project management skills.


You're the right fit if:

  • You have 5+ years of experience in a project management role with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. PMP certification is a bonus, but not required.
  • You have demonstrated experience managing complex schedules and cross-functional teams.
  • You have a strong understanding of product development processes and life cycle management and experience with medical device regulations, ISO 13485, and regulatory submission processes (e.g., 510(k)).
  • You bring strong organizational and collaborative skills along with a strategic mindset for managing project risk, timelines, and resource allocations. You have excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work efficiently with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders is required.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.


How we work together:

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company's facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company's main facilities, generally at the customers' or suppliers' locations.

This is an office-based role with the expectation of 5 days a week in the Bedford, MA office.

Philips Transparency Details:

The pay range for this position in MA is $115,000 - $182,000.

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
