Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Hardware Engineer - Level 5 to support our team in Boulder, CO or Colorado Springs, CO.

Responsibilities
  • Conducts research, design, development, and testing of information processing hardware such as computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, electrical components and Shelter systems. Designs new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications.

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 12 years of relevant experience - OR - Master's degree with 10 years of relevant experience - OR - PhD with 8 years of relevant experience. An additional 4 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance required at time of application
  • Experience providing technical guidance and oversight for multidisciplinary engineering teams, including systems, electrical, mechanical, RF/antenna, structural disciplines.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage teams of 20 or more personnel, including project estimating, schedule management, subcontract management, material and equipment allocation, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience with system, subsystem, and component level testing, including test plan development, system availability/reliability analysis, troubleshooting, and field engineering.
  • Background in site development, logistics planning and execution, and supporting defense contractors and federal government projects.
  • Experience ensuring quality control, safety, and compliance across engineering projects and job sites.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing technical guidance and oversight for a multidisciplinary, Shelter based Integrated Product Team or similar product-based development team.
  • Demonstrated success functioning as the technical advisor for the customer and/or end-user on multiple programs, representing the engineering team and resolving technical issues.
  • Experience providing consultant-level technical services for programs and/or capture efforts outside of primary full-time program support.
  • Proven ability to manage tasking and personnel resources to optimize support of multiple concurrent programs, including developing strategic staffing plans for multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience mentoring junior engineers for technical development and career guidance, and maintaining a high-integrity, high-effectiveness team culture internally and externally.
  • Background in Nuclear Effects Survivability (HEMP/SREMP/CBRN) for shelter and mission-critical systems.
  • Hands-on experience with RF system hardware and antenna engineering, including system, sub-system, and component-level test planning and execution.
  • Experience with structural analysis in support of shelter and site development.


Primary Level Salary Range: $146,300.00 - $241,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
