Meet the team:Our Medical Interoperability team plays a critical role in ensuring seamless, reliable, and safe communication between Dexcom Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) systems and connected diabetes management technologies. As a Medical Interoperability Engineer, you will support the verification and validation of CGM interoperability with Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) systems, insulin pumps, and supporting software. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience with connected medical devices while contributing to life-changing technology in a highly regulated environment.
Where you come in:- You execute system-level verification and validation testing for CGM interoperability with insulin pumps and automated insulin delivery systems.
- You perform testing using physical hardware, simulators, emulators, and laboratory test tools.
- You author, review, and execute test protocols, test cases, and test reports supporting interoperability features and system requirements.
- You develop and maintain test coverage for scenarios including communication interruptions, data latency, data loss, sensor dropouts, and system recovery behavior.
- You contribute to regression testing efforts supporting firmware, software, mobile application, and system-level releases.
- You collect, organize, and analyze test data to support engineering investigations, product quality assessments, and release readiness activities.
- You assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis of interoperability issues across hardware, firmware, software, and communication interfaces.
- You ensure accurate documentation and traceability between product requirements, risk controls, verification activities, and test results.
- You support verification activities performed in accordance with FDA regulations, quality system requirements, and medical device development processes.
- You collaborate with cross-functional teams and external device partners to support integration and interoperability initiatives.
What makes you successful:- You have experience executing structured test protocols and documenting results in a regulated environment.
- You have experience collecting, organizing, and analyzing test data to identify trends and support engineering decisions.
- You have a basic understanding of Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or other device-to-device communication technologies.
- You have knowledge of system-level testing principles for connected products or medical devices.
- You have familiarity with medical device verification and validation methodologies.
- You have experience supporting defect investigation, issue tracking, and root cause analysis activities.
- You have knowledge of requirements traceability and regulated documentation practices.
- You possess strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate well across engineering, quality, and external partner teams.
- Preferred: Experience with CGM systems, insulin pumps, Automated Insulin Delivery (AID) systems, or other connected healthcare technologies.

Travel Required:Education and Experience: - Typically requires a Bachelor9s degree in a technical discipline and 2-5 years of related experience, or a Master9s degree and 0-2 years of equivalent industry experience.
