Job Description

We are seeking a Hardware Developer with a focus on power supply design who will also contribute to other areas of hardware development, including signal conditioning and digital circuit design. This role is directly involved in the hardware development of cybersecurity computers, ensuring robust and reliable platforms through advanced power and circuit design. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in regulator design, simulation, and testing, coupled with the ability to support system-level hardware integration and design reviews.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop single- and multi-phase switching regulators (primarily buck converters) with emphasis on current sharing.
  • Design and implement linear voltage regulators for precision and low-noise applications.
  • Design and implement inrush current controllers and efuses.
  • Develop and optimize filters (using ferrites and inductors) to attenuate switching regulator voltage ripple and evaluate their frequency response.
  • Evaluate output impedance and ensure regulator stability across load and operating conditions.
  • Perform SPICE simulations to verify regulator stability, frequency response, and transient performance.
  • Perform primitive thermal analysis of voltage regulators to ensure safe operating conditions and reliable system performance.
  • Perform PCB design reviews (Allegro) with a focus on power integrity, grounding, and layout best practices.
  • Create and maintain schematic designs using OrCAD Capture.
  • Conduct lab measurements including:
    • Voltage ripple characterization
    • Bode plot generation
    • Output impedance testing
    • Step response analysis
  • Work with IC vendors to:
    • Identify and select the best power solutions for given requirements.
    • Review schematic and PCB designs for compliance with vendor guidelines.
    • Engage in troubleshooting efforts when issues arise.
  • Contribute to signal conditioning circuit design and review for analog front-end applications.
  • Participate in digital circuit design and review, ensuring reliable integration with mixed-signal systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver robust, production-ready hardware designs for cybersecurity computing platforms.

Soft Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications
  • MSc degree in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a specialization in Power Electronics.
  • Minimum 1 year of work experience in hardware and power supply design.
  • Excellent hands-on experience in lab testing, regulator design, and frequency/stability analysis.
  • Proficiency in SPICE simulation tools, PCB design tools (Allegro), and schematic capture (OrCAD).
  • Strong understanding of signal conditioning circuits, digital hardware, and system-level design considerations.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience designing multi-phase converters with current balancing.
  • Strong analytical skills in both circuit simulation and real-world measurements.
  • Familiarity with mixed-signal design challenges and PCB-level noise mitigation.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
