Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Early Career Guidance, Navigation & Controls Engineer. In this role, you will design flight software algorithms, conduct performance analysis and support hardware-in-the-loop testing. The successful candidate will have experience and/or knowledge of controls, programming and/or system modeling. Must be a US Citizen; this position will require a government security clearance. This position is located at a facility that requires special access. Basic Qualifications • B.S. or M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering or related degree • Broad technical skills including rigid body dynamics, control theory, computer programming or related fields. • Experience using Matlab and/or Simulink for simulations, analysis of feedback control systems, closed loop guidance, or navigation algorithms. • Ability to obtain and maintain Secret Security Clearance. Thus US Citizenship is required Desired skills • Experience with simulation and physics-based modeling • Knowledge of missile systems • Experience with missile flight controls and guidance • Experience with model based software development using Simulink (autocoding) • Experience with Python, FORTRAN, C and C++ • Experience with image processing • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment. • Demonstrated ability as a team player to build consensus among peers and build effective relationships with team members. • Demonstrated communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical issues to peers, advisors/management, subcontractors and customers. • Active DoD Secret clearance # Space SMD Work Schedule Information Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits. National Pay Statement Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $68,000 - $119,830. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
