Career Opportunity: Guardianship Social WorkerLocation: Prince George, BCEmployment Type: Permanent Full-TimeThe Opportunity: The Guardianship Social Worker promotes and ensures the safety, well-being, and rights of Indigenous children and youth in care, providing ongoing support throughout placement, permanency planning, and transition to adulthood. This role works collaboratively with caregivers, families, Indigenous communities, and multidisciplinary partners to deliver culturally responsive guardianship services in accordance with the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA).
- Develop and oversee care plans for children and youth in care, ensuring input from the child, caregivers, extended family, and other members of the care planning circle.
- Support children, youth, and caregivers through placement, permanency, adoption, and life-skills planning while safeguarding the child's rights and well-being.
- Collaborate with Indigenous communities, service providers, legal partners, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate services, maintain cultural connections, and achieve positive outcomes for children and youth.

- Experience in family services, child and youth services, or child welfare environments, with guardianship, resource, child protection, or child welfare specialization experience preferred.
- C4 delegation (or higher) under the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA), or the ability to complete training to obtain C4 delegation; valid Class 5 driver's licence required.

Wage Range: The target hiring range for this position is $41.837 to $51.4710 per hour. Candidates will typically be hired, transferred or promoted between the minimum and midpoint of the wage range. Placement within the wage range is dependent on the applicants' role specific knowledge, skills, abilities, related experience and in consideration of factors such as market conditions and internal equity.
