The Opportunity

Build the Future with Us - Lead the evolution of ground improvement solutions across Ontario and Canada. As a Ground Improvement Technical Lead, you'll bring deep expertise in ground engineering and ground modification techniques to deliver high-impact infrastructure projects. This role blends technical leadership, project delivery, and market growth - enabling you to shape complex geotechnical solutions while mentoring teams and expanding WSP's presence in the Canadian ground improvement market.

Your Impact
  • Lead the technical delivery of complex ground improvement projects, ensuring innovative, safe, and cost-effective solutions
  • Drive the planning and implementation of ground improvement techniques including deep soil mixing, densification, grouting, and reinforcement systems
  • Provide subject matter expertise on ground conditions and treatment methodologies across diverse project environments
  • Oversee project execution from concept through construction, ensuring quality, schedule, and budget targets are met
  • Mentor and develop junior and intermediate engineers, strengthening technical capability across the team
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate geotechnical and ground improvement solutions into major infrastructure projects
  • Support business development by identifying opportunities and expanding WSP's ground improvement market presence in Canada
  • Build strong client relationships, delivering trusted advisory services and technical excellence

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • 15+ years of experience in geotechnical or civil engineering or construction, including at least 5 years focused on ground improvement
  • Proven experience delivering completed ground improvement projects across varying site conditions and project types
  • Strong technical knowledge of ground improvement methods such as vibro compaction, dynamic compaction, grouting, soil mixing, wick drains, and rigid inclusions
  • Deep understanding of geotechnical site conditions, risk assessment, and ground behaviour
  • Demonstrated leadership in technical review, design oversight, and project execution
  • Familiarity with the Canadian ground improvement market, including client landscape and regulatory environment
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (or eligibility to obtain) strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence clients and multidisciplinary teams

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $147,500 - $ $195,400
MB & ON: $134,600 - $184,600
NB, NL, NS, PE & QC: $133,200 - $176,900
