Your Key Responsibilities

As a member of the People Consulting team focused on HR and business performance, you will join a talented group of professionals that help support the design and implementation of HR operating models and technology solutions; improve HR process efficiency; manage people risks; automate how HR processes are delivered at scale to help organizations successfully transition to a future state; and advise organizations on a range of challenges that are associated with major transformations. As a Senior Consultant focused on HR and business performance, you will help design and deliver solutions that improve how HR organizations operate, deliver services, and enable the broader workforce. Key responsibilities include:
• Lead or manage defined workstreams within HR transformation, operating model, service delivery, data analytics, process improvement, workforce transformation and HR technology engagements.
• Develop practical, client-ready deliverables, including current-state assessments, future-state operating models, process maps, implementation roadmaps, business cases, decision materials and executive presentations.
• Use data, analytics, automation and leading-edge technology concepts to identify improvement opportunities and support more efficient, scalable HR service delivery.
• Facilitate working sessions, interviews and meetings with clients and EY teams to gather input, build alignment and drive decisions.
• Identify, escalate and help manage project risks, issues, dependencies and stakeholder considerations during client delivery.
• Coach and coordinate staff and other junior team members, helping them produce high-quality work and develop consulting skills.
• Contribute to internal initiatives, proposals, presentations, pursuit materials and thought leadership that advance EY GPS People Consulting capabilities.

Skills and Attributes for Success

Some key capabilities you should be prepared to bring to client facing and internal initiative teams include:
  • Strong working knowledge of consulting delivery methods, with the ability to structure ambiguous problems, synthesize information and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Experience or strong aptitude in one or more relevant capability areas, such as HR transformation, HR operating and delivery models, HR process efficiency, workforce transformation, AI-enabled solutions, automation, data analytics or HR technology modernization.
  • A practical, business-driven approach to solving complex client challenges using data, stakeholder input and implementation considerations.
  • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to create concise written products, facilitate discussions and tailor messaging for client leaders.
  • Inclusive teaming and collaboration skills, including the ability to build trusted working relationships with clients, colleagues and cross-functional teams.
  • Interest in business development and eminence, including support for proposals, presentations, market-facing materials and thought leadership.

To qualify for the role, you must have
• Relevant professional services, consulting or in-house transformation experience, including prior work with a Big Four firm, global management consultancy, niche consultancy or large-scale transformation program.
• 3 or more years of experience in one or more relevant areas, such as HR transformation, HR technology solutions, HR operating and delivery models, process improvement, policy, workforce transformation, organizational design, strategy or program implementation.
• Demonstrated ability to own meaningful portions of client work, produce high-quality deliverables, engage stakeholders and contribute to project management activities.
• A bachelor's degree; a relevant graduate degree or professional certification is a plus.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher, as required by client and project needs.
• Willingness to travel 20 to 30% or more. Due to the nature of our work in Government and Public Sector, work may be required at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally, you will also have
• Experience supporting Federal, State, Local or Education clients, or familiarity with government operating environments, workforce challenges and public sector mission priorities.
• Exposure to HR technology, service delivery modernization, AI/automation, data analytics, shared services, managed services, employee experience or workforce planning concepts.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project deadlines

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $100,600 to $165,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $120,800 to $188,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 40-60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
