Position Description:

Would you like to have a career with a collaborative, diverse, and dynamic mining company? We have an exciting opportunity for you! Our people division is growing, and we are looking for an Lateral Development Subject Matter Expert with our Goldrush Underground Operations department.

Responsibilities
  • Take ownership in and accountability for maintaining safe work practices, safe workplaces, and safe operation and maintenance of all equipment
  • Mentor, coach, and develop underground mining personnel in safe and efficient lateral development practices
  • Provide hands-on training and field leadership in jumbo drilling, ground support installation, mucking, and development cycle optimization
  • Evaluate operator performance and provide constructive feedback to improve safety, productivity, equipment utilization, and overall development quality
  • Promote adherence to company safety standards, procedures, and operational best practices
  • Lead by example in hazard recognition, risk mitigation, and proactive safety engagement
  • Able to read cut sheets/maps, properly scale and map rounds, and maintain line and grade
  • Able to operate Single and Two Boom Jumbo
  • Able to operate 6yd, 9yd, and 12yd Loaders
  • Able to understand different rock types and drilling/blasting procedures to minimize over-break
  • Able to understand and follow ground support plans
  • Able to operate mechanized bolter
  • Able to operate shotcrete equipment
  • Able to handle explosives and load rounds in a safe and productive manner
  • Able to install utilities such as ventilation and air/water/discharge pipe
  • Assist supervisors and crews in troubleshooting operational challenges and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Support onboarding and skills advancement of miners through practical demonstrations and field instruction
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and communicate progress and development needs to leadership
  • Perform other duties as assigned from time to time at the discretion of the company


Qualifications
  • 10+ years of underground mining experience preferred
  • Extensive experience in lateral development operations including jumbo drilling, bolting, blasting, and mucking required
  • Previous mentoring, coaching, or crew leadership experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of underground development safety standards and best practices required
  • Previous heavy equipment operation experience preferred
  • Ability to work safely and effectively in an underground mining environment required
  • Stable, consistent work history required
  • Proactive safety and environmental track record required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all mine operations personnel required
  • Ability to deliver constructive feedback and hands-on instruction in a professional manner required
  • Ability to work within a team environment, work closely with peers at all levels with a professional attitude required
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making skills preferred
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of this job required
