How you will impact Ingevity:In this role, you will have the opportunity to have a real impact on the company by providing multi-faceted Safety and Occupational Health (S&OH) support to our businesses and operating sites. The S&OH Manager will be responsible for leading global S&OH programs to enable the organization to drive injuries, illnesses, and incidents to zero. This role will lead processes to develop, upgrade, and implement company-wide S&OH standards and managing systems. The S&OH Manager will focus on advancing the company's S&OH capabilities and culture.
How you will impact Ingevity:
- Leading and continuously improving global S&OH programs for the company.
- Working across all manufacturing sites to partner with their Safety & Health teams and provide subject matter expertise and guidance.
- Function as the subject matter expert for S&OH in various specialized competency areas.
- Monitoring and communicating patterns and trends in S&OH performance and leading the development and implementation of appropriate responses.
- Leading efforts to develop new and maintain existing S&OH and process safety management standardspolicies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Providing oversight and management to corporate S&OH and process safety related EHS systems.
- Monitoring developments related to regulations and industry standards, assessing impacts, and leading implementation for any new S&OH requirements.
- Developing, and leading S&OH training. Overseeing development of site S&OH resources.
- Leading 2nd party S&OH audits, analyzing audit findings for company-wide applicability and response, and ensuring audit tools are available and current.
- Conducting audits at 3rd party provider locations and for mergers and acquisitions.
- Assisting sites with 3rd party audits and interactions.
- Organizing S&OH networks, ensuring specialized competency areas and needs are addressed.
- Leading or participating in significant injury, illness, and incident investigations, providing assistance with classifications, root cause failure analysis, and completion of recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
- Working closely with HR and Medical on managing workers compensation cases, medical surveillance and wellness programs.
- Overseeing exposure monitoring programs, analyzing results, and recommending action plans.
- Leading the ergonomics and other health related programs for the company.
- Managing and monitoring support and services provided by contractors and consultants.
- Representing the company on relevant external committees, teams, and associations.
- Benchmarking similar companies and industries for continuous program improvement.
What you need to succeed:
- BS degree or higher in chemical engineering or other engineering, technical, or scientific discipline required
- 7 or more years of experience working in S&OH roles at manufacturing locations Experience managing global S&OH programs at corporate or division level or across multiple sites required
- Sound technical and regulatory knowledge relating to S&OH
- Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred
- Proven ability to communicate with impact across all levels of an organization and lead by influence
- Highly motivated, customer oriented individual with a solid history of planning, execution, and organization and people skills
- Self-motivated, results oriented and able to learn rapidly, multi-task efficiently and effectively plan and organize to meet multiple deadlines.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Open Text, SAP, all Google drive applications

- Ability to travel approximately 30%
