Summary

The Program Manager - Strategic Planning & Capacity operates in a high-visibility role reporting directly to the Director of Global Capacity Planning. This role is foundational to the company's forward-looking growth, covering global capacity planning, new customer onboarding, and early engagement initiatives. The primary focus of this position is the end-to-end management, coordination, and analysis of the executive-level Global Capacity Planning model. This critical, highly detailed data asset is reviewed directly by executive leadership to guide global operations and corporate strategy.

Detailed Description

Global Capacity Management: Owns the update execution, meticulous maintenance, and validation of the highly critical, large-scale Global Capacity Planning file.
Cross-Functional Data Gathering: Partners directly with various Business Units (BUs) to gather, interpret, and integrate their future demand and growth projections.
Site Collaboration: Communicates regularly with manufacturing sites globally to capture localized operational capabilities and facilitate forward-looking capacity planning.
Executive Reporting Support: Assists the Director in translating massive, intricate spreadsheets into clear, structured, and high-level summaries ready for executive reviews.
Early Engagement & Onboarding: Supports strategic initiatives surrounding early engagement and the smooth transition/integration of new customers.
Multi-Project Handling: Simultaneously manages multiple ongoing tasks, operational streams, and strategic planning timelines effectively.
Proactive Problem Solving: Identifies data discrepancies or out-of-plan conditions early, applying strong analytical skills to resolve complex planning bottlenecks.
Matrix Communication: Coordinates and drives alignment across matrixed internal groups-including Finance, Manufacturing, Business Units, and Executive Leadership.

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies

Advanced Data & Spreadsheet Literacy: Exceptional proficiency in navigating, organizing, and auditing massive, highly detailed Excel workbooks. Must be comfortable maintaining meticulous data integrity within complex (though not necessarily structurally convoluted) models.
Analytical Thinking & Problem Solving: Superior ability to break down vague or expansive operational inputs into clear, logical planning steps.
Adaptability & Speed: A fast learner who can rapidly grasp Celestica's global footprints, site capabilities, and internal planning ecosystems.
Clear & Effective Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to present complex operational realities clearly to executive stakeholders.

Physical Demands

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment or manufacturing floor
  • Likely there will be a significant amount of travel between customer and Celestica locations
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Above demands are carried out within the local existing Health and Safety guidelines


Typical Experience

Nine plus years of relevant experience in program management, operations planning, business analytics, or strategic supply chain roles.

Typical Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics), or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.
