Position Summary

The Global Procurement Manager leads strategic sourcing and procurement across the company's global operations, managing an annual spend portfolio in excess of $150 million that spans direct materials and product cost, MRO and indirect categories, services, freight, and capital equipment. Reporting to the Director of Global Supply Chain, this role develops and executes category strategies, leads high-value supplier negotiations, and builds the supplier and data foundations that enable sustained margin improvement. The Global Procurement Manager works in close partnership with regional supply chain teams, operations, engineering, quality, and finance to deliver measurable cost savings, assured supply, and disciplined procurement governance across all regions and regional distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global category and commodity sourcing strategies across direct (materials and product cost), indirect and MRO, services, freight, and capital equipment spend.
  • Lead high-value supplier negotiations, RFx events, and contract development on a total-cost-of-ownership basis, securing favorable pricing, commercial terms, and risk protections.
  • Own governance of the Approved Supplier List in the ERP system, including supplier qualification, onboarding, segmentation, and rationalization.
  • Establish and maintain a multi-level commodity taxonomy and enforce master data discipline across supplier and item records to support accurate spend visibility.
  • Identify, size, and deliver cost-savings initiatives, tracking realized savings against targets and reporting progress to leadership.
  • Partner with regional supply chain managers and regional distribution center operations to align sourcing strategy with operational demand and inventory plans.
  • Manage supplier performance, risk, and compliance through scorecards, business reviews, and supply continuity planning.
  • Implement and enforce procurement policy and delegation-of-authority controls across the procure-to-pay process.
  • Lead cross-functional sourcing initiatives in collaboration with engineering, operations, quality, and finance.
  • Build spend analytics, savings dashboards, and procurement KPIs to drive fact-based decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop procurement and sourcing staff, building team capability and bench strength.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of eight years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience, preferably in oilfield services, manufacturing, or an industrial sector.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings through category management, negotiation, and supplier consolidation.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP procurement systems (Oracle E-Business Suite preferred) and strong spend-analytics and Microsoft Excel proficiency.
  • Experience managing global, multi-region sourcing across diverse cultures, currencies, and regulatory environments.
  • Working knowledge of commercial contract terms, Incoterms, and import/export and logistics considerations.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership ability, including building, developing, and mentoring procurement staff.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally as required.
