Role and ResponsibilitiesAs a foreign headquartered organization, we have individuals who are working in the Americas on expatriate assignment from Korea and other countries. In North America Shared Service Center (NA SSC HR), we are responsible for providing a full range of support services to all expatriates (expats) and foreign nationals within the organization in USA. This individual will manage a team that works with US employees, foreign nationals, and expatriates from Korea so effective communication and support is required.
Role and Responsibilities- Manage a team of 6+ contractors and/or RFTs responsible for: background checks, relocations, global mobility, foreign nationals, expatriates, I-9s, visas, PERM Process
- Provide concierge services to EXPATS for their US onboarding to support ONSITE APPEARANCE to facilitate US Govt Doc such as DMV, SSA, USCIS, Bank, etc.
- Provide orientation and other onboarding support to EXPATS upon arrival, including assistance with housing and other personal matters.
- Vendor and program management for RELOCATION policies, practices, and compliance.
- Vendor and program management for BACKGROUND CHECKS and I-9 policies, compliance, and adjudication.
- Maintain a strong functional team through effective recruiting, training, coaching and team building.
- Set goals and objectives for the team and oversee performance, ensuring service delivery and processes are managed as efficiently as possible while adhering to all compliance requirements
- Partner with leadership on best practices; identify and implement process improvements.
- Support ad hoc projects and activities related to all supported regional HR departments.
- Lead subsidiary HR meetings and be the face/contact of the Shared Service Center for Talent Transition/Global Mobility respective items.
- Ensure quality of work and SLAs are met.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills with problem-solving ability.
Skills and QualificationsQualifications:- Knowledge of Korean business culture, etiquette, and practices is a plus.
- Experience working with foreign nationals and expatriates.
- Experience managing PERM process, I-9 verifications/reverifications, and visas.
- Experience managing background checks.
- Experience managing relocations including policy creation, implementation, administration, and oversight.
- Demonstrated vendor management including contract negotiations and invoice management.
- Minimum 6 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field or 2 years of related experienced and a Master's Degree
- Minimum 4 years previous leadership/people management experience.
- Knowledge of government regulations, compliance, best practices, and industry trends as they apply to Talent Transition, Global Mobility, Expats, and Immigration.
- Must exercise considerable tact and courtesy in dealing with employees, managers, and key stakeholders on a daily basis.
- Ability to quickly and accurately evaluate a technical situation while managing the operational challenges.
- Working independently and able to manage reprioritization of tasks/events/commitments quickly based on contract, client, and business situations.
- Highly skilled at prioritization, planning, working independently all within standard policies and business standards.
- 2+ years of Direct Experience, legal assistance experience is a plus.
- Dress code: Business professional.
- In Plano, Texas office Monday through Friday.
- Travel up to 10%.
