Job Summary
In this role, reporting to the Director, Global Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) for Next Generation Platforms you will work within a cross-functional (Next Gen Segment) team and be responsible for driving inclusion of the payer voice in commercial assessments, evidence planning, and launch strategy development to inform executive decision-making for our pipeline products. You will also partner with regional/local access teams for successful engagement with key access & payer stakeholders in their respective markets.
Position Overview: In this role, reporting to the Director, Global Health Economics & Market Access (HEMA) for Next Generation Platforms you will work within a cross-functional (Next Gen Segment) team and be responsible for driving inclusion of the payer voice in commercial assessments, evidence planning, and launch strategy development to inform executive decision-making for our pipeline products. You will also partner with regional/local access teams for successful engagement with key access & payer stakeholders in their respective markets.
Responsibilities - Lead a variety of global payer research activities to effectively capture payer perspectives and translate key insights into product development, commercial assessment and launch planning processes to enable evidence-based decision-making for the organization.
- Serve as an access champion for the Next Gen Segment across the Insulet Market Access community and collaborate closely with the market access stakeholders to ensure Next Gen Segment access solutions can be implemented globally.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional Segment partners including medical, marketing and product to provide access/payer perspective where needed and to gather input for key access workstreams
- When appropriate, partner with Global HEOR and Global Pricing to form cohesive health economic and pricing strategies that will optimize global access and deliver on brand expectations
- Identify global payer evidence generation needs and study design requirements to achieve coverage and pricing goals in close partnership with regional access and cross-functional stakeholders
- Perform other related duties as required
Key Decision Rights- Own generation of Next Gen payer insights to inform strategic decision-making
- Lead global payer research engagements including vendor selection, design/execution and insights generation for key internal audiences
- Own integration of payer insights into key product stage-gate documents and presentations
Required Skills and Competencies- Proven payer research and strategy development skills across a wide range of payer and/or HTA body archetypes with robustly demonstrated market access expertise
- Ability to make the complex simple for non-access audiences
- Willingness to travel in the USA and abroad, as needed
- Computer skills: Leverage spreadsheets and databases to turn data into insights. Strong analytical skills. PowerPoint and MS office expertise
- Demonstrated knowledge of core market access disciplines-Field Access, pricing, HEOR, value communication, distribution, etc.
- Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization to get to the right internal subject matter experts for guidance and perspective.
- Writing and Presentation Skills: Ability to author and lead internal updates, executive level engagements and presentations, in collaboration with both market access and cross-functional partners.
- Vendor/budget management expertise: proven ability to manage relationships with external vendors and keep a pulse on novel, value-added tools/offerings
- Possess excellent project and time management skills. Strong track record of delivering business-impacting results under time constraints.
Education and Experience- Bachelor's degree in life/health sciences or related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree (MBA, MPH, etc.) preferred.
- 8+ years of overall experience, with a minimum of 5-6 years of hands-on experience in a similar role in the life science industry (pharma and/or medtech) or consultancy. Past or present experience in the field of diabetes or diabetes technology is desired
- Demonstrated understanding of global payer archetypes, including the market access requirements in US and/or high evidence demand/access barrier markets (e.g. US, UK, France, Germany, Canada)
- Experience managing external vendor relationships for payer research and value material creation is strongly preferred
Additional Information- The position will be US-based and can be hybrid or in-person at our office in Acton, MA.
- Travel is estimated at 10% but will flex depending on business need
