Job Description:

Caterpillar Inc has an exciting opportunity within our Building Construction Products (BCP) division for a Global Director of Marketing to lead an integrated, customer-back marketing organization that builds brand preference, creates demand, accelerates customer acquisition and conversion, and enables profitable growth across machines, services, technology, and customer solutions. You will direct marketing campaigns and market-testing initiatives designed to identify customer opportunities, evaluate new concepts, and strengthen marketplace performance. This leadership role will monitor market size, share, customer needs, and competitive activity, converting insights into clear recommendations for senior decision-makers. You will guide product and service positioning, pricing considerations, marketing policies, and strategic partnerships while creating a culture of customer focus, creativity, and disciplined execution. The successful candidate will bring advanced marketing leadership, global business perspective, executive influence, and the ability to build trusted relationships across functions and with external partners to deliver customer growth.

What You Will Do:

  • Build demand and accelerate conversion: Lead industry-based and segment-based marketing, lead generation, nurturing, and sales and dealer enablement programs that translate complex machine, service, and technology solutions into clear customer value and measurable commercial opportunities, and present actionable recommendations to senior stakeholders
  • Lead marketing strategy: Establish and direct an integrated marketing strategy, policies, and operating practices that position products or services for sustainable performance in target markets
  • Evaluate market conditions: Assess changes in customer demand, competitive dynamics, channels, and external conditions, recommending policy or strategy changes that support sales activity and organizational objectives
  • Modernize the marketing engine: Advance the responsible use of generative AI, marketing automation, personalization, customer data, and emerging technologies to improve speed, relevance, scalability, and marketing effectiveness
  • Champion customer-centered decision-making: Craft persuasive, evidence-based stories that clearly demonstrate how Cat solutions solve customer problems and create value
  • Create an innovative marketing culture: Encourage experimentation, imaginative problem-solving, thoughtful risk-taking, and learning from outcomes
  • Lead omnichannel customer engagement: Integrate dealer, digital, social, paid media, events, field marketing, and commerce experiences to create connected customer journeys and reduce friction from awareness through purchase and ownership

What You Have:

  • Customer Focus: Ability to establish a customer-focused vision, connect customer needs to business success, promote customer loyalty, and advise senior leaders on customer-centered decisions
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities; make decisions among complex alternatives; and develop strategic alliances that improve long-term competitiveness
  • Influencing: Ability to shape decisions across organizational levels, gain executive acceptance of recommendations, and influence high-impact or highly complex situations
  • Effective Communications: Ability to communicate with diverse audiences, ensure important messages are understood, and coach others in clear written, verbal, and presentation communication
  • Creativity: Ability to turn original thinking into practical business solutions, create an environment that supports experimentation, and champion new initiatives
  • Lead with a Global Perspective: Extensive experience leading direct-report teams and influencing stakeholders across a complex, highly matrixed global organization with local, regional, and global scope
