Job Summary

Job Summary

This position serves the Department as a full-time Glaucoma ophthalmologist. A comprehensive list of duties and expectations will be outlined in an MSP Physician contract upon appointment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position
  • California medical license
  • Board Certification Required
  • MD (Doctor of Medicine) or DO (Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine) required
  • Successful completion of an ophthalmology residency at the time of appointment
  • Successful completion of a Glaucoma fellowship at the time of appointment
  • No minimum work experience required
  • Skills and abilities to perform patient care at an acceptable level as dictated by UC Davis Health policy and procedures
  • Comprehensive understanding of medical and clinical sciences across a range of specialties
  • Familiarity with current diagnostic methods, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices
  • Knowledge of public health principles and infection control protocols
  • Awareness of ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in healthcare delivery
  • Understanding of hospital/clinic policies, documentation systems, and electronic health records (EHR) Skills

Department Specific Job Scope

Specific duties will include:

Hold an agreed upon number of Glaucoma clinics per week

Perform surgery as necessary within the appropriate scope of a Glaucoma ophthalmologist

Perform incidental instruction as necessary to residents and fellows

Perform administrative duties as required pertaining to the needs and expectations of a UC Davis Health physician

Complete the requisite administrative duties as required by UC Davis Health in the context of a member of the active medical staff
