Overview

DecisionPoint Corporation is seeking a GIS Specialist to join our team on an upcoming Department of Interior, Bureau of Reclamation CGB-400 GIS Technical Service Support contract. The GIS Specialist performs GIS production, mapping, spatial data management, geodatabase maintenance, and technical support for Bureau of Reclamation programs while assisting senior staff with enterprise GIS operations.

 

Remote eligible. Employee must reside within 50 miles of a Bureau of Reclamation or DOI facility located within the designated western states to ensure availability for any required IT support or onsite needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

· Performs mapping and graphics and tabular data.

· Assists in database design, automation and processing macros related analytical procedures.

· Maintains and updates geodatabases.

· Reviews output for data accuracy and for adherence to end user’s output criteria.

· Assists with Arc GIS Online, maintains logs, records and files.

· Provides GIS assistance to Reclamation staff.

Qualifications

Ability to obtain a Public Trust

 

Education:

BA/BS in Geography, Natural Resources Management, Earth Sciences, Engineering, or Computer Sciences. (NOTE: Comparable work experience is acceptable)

 

 

Experience:

· Minimum 3–5 years of progressively responsible GIS experience

· 3 to 5 years of GIS production work using ESRI software.

· Coursework in cartography and/or graphic design.

· Successful completion of any combination of 3 the following ESRI training courses within the past two years. This may be substituted for some of the experience and/or time requirements:

a. ArcGIS Pro.

b. Introduction of Geoprocessing Scripts Using Python.

c. Basics of Python.

d. Managing Lidar Data Using Mosaic Datasets.

e. Map Design Fundamentals.

f. Creating Prediction Surfaces in ArcGIS.

g. Building Geoprocessing Models Using ArcGIS Pro.

h. Creating and Sharing GIS Content Using ArcGIS Online.

i. User Workflows for ArcGIS Online Organizations.
