Position Description:Lead and oversee the technical operations and maintenance of Santee Cooper's distribution GIS electrical model. This includes completing GIS updates and analyses, writing and executing custom queries and generating maps, managing the conversion of CADD files to GIS layers, and directing Horry-Georgetown drone/UAS operations. Provide technical support to Engineering and other departments to maintain precise property and facility records that accurately reflect the electrical system. Facilitate the delivery of exceptional electrical service to customers in Horry, Georgetown, and Berkeley counties, adhering to company standards, policies, and procedures. Provide leadership, mentorship, and training to departmental technicians.
Essential Job Tasks:- Posts work requests into the Geographic Information System (GIS) reflecting as-built changes to facilities while maintaining established accuracy goals.
- Provides training for technicians and new employees.
- Maintains GIS projects data layers (e.g., - subdivision property line layouts) created from customer/developer CADD files.
- Performs checks, circuit traces, and edits in GIS to ensure data integrity, specifically connectivity on network features.
- Acts as a primary technical resource for distribution technical staff responsible for GIS Distribution data entry/retrieval.
- Coordinates and shares GIS data with other municipalities, counties, engineering firms, utilities, and electric cooperatives.
- Acquires and manages GIS data from these sources.
- Collaborates with GIS System Administrator and Technology Services to customize, upgrade, enhance, and maintain GIS.
- Performs spatial and attribute queries and analyze the GIS data for various customers, using data from CC&B, GIS, etc.
- Maintains mobile devices (e.g. - Garmin, iPads) with GIS data for field personnel and internal/external customers to be used in the field.
- Acts as a technical resource for GIS users in other departments.
Position Requirements: Senior GIS Analyst - Associate's Degree minimum education required + 4 years experience
- 8 + years experience preferred
- Must have working knowledge of GIS and ESRI ArcGIS software, ESRI extensions, Google Earth, Schneider Electric ArcFM, and CAD software
- Must have working knowledge of conventional and GPS surveying methods
- Must have working knowledge with SQL database, iReports, and Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Access
- FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate within six months
- Experience with Trimble GPS and range finder, strongly desired
Compensation Information:$93,830 - $117,290 (min. - mid.)
