Responsibilities
The Geotechnical Senior Project Professional leads and oversees geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing projects from proposal through final delivery and closeout. This role is fully accountable for project success, including technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution. The Geotechnical Senior Project Professional provides leadership to project teams and actively contributes to business development and client relationship growth while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating an understanding of ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities - Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion
- Oversees preparation of technical reports, including analysis and recommendations
- Ensures all project tasks, from proposal to final invoice, are completed accurately and on time
- Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections
- Reviews field reports and ensures quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Hosts and participates in project meetings with clients and stakeholders
- Provides technical solutions and recommendations during project execution
- Supervises and mentors field staff, technicians, and junior professionals
- Supports staff development and training
- Prepares and reviews geotechnical and CMT proposals
- Oversees field operations, including drilling and testing activities
- Conducts geologic research and supports technical decision-making
- Performs or delegates project tasks as appropriate
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications - 12 years of related experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Earth Sciences, Engineering Technology, or related field is preferred
- If driving for, or on behalf of, any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Strong leadership and decision-making capabilities
- Advanced project management and consulting skills
- Strong knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications
- Strong working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities
- Strong client relationship and business development skills
- Ability to lead and develop teams
- Strong understanding of project prioritization and consulting workflows
