Responsibilities
The Geotechnical Senior Project Manager leads and oversees geotechnical engineering and construction materials testing (CMT) projects from proposal through final delivery and closeout. This role is fully accountable for project success, including technical quality, client satisfaction, financial performance, and team execution. The Geotechnical Senior Project Manager provides leadership to project teams, mentors staff, and actively contributes to business development and client relationship growth while maintaining a positive customer service attitude and demonstrating ECS Core Values.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and manages geotechnical and CMT projects from proposal through completion
- Oversees preparation and review of geotechnical reports, including technical analysis and recommendations
- Ensures all project tasks, from proposal to final invoice, are completed accurately and on time
- Manages project budgets, change orders, invoicing, and collections
- Reviews field reports and ensures quality, accuracy, and completeness
- Prepares and oversees proposals and contracts
- Serves as primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Hosts and participates in project meetings to present findings and provide technical solutions
- Supervises field investigations, drilling, and testing activities
- Provides technical oversight and verifies calculations and recommendations
- Mentors and develops junior staff, technicians, and project managers
- Supports staffing decisions and resource allocation
- Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:- 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or similar is required
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) or Professional Geologist (P.G.) license is required in each of the state(s) in which you work, or you must have the ability to obtain a local license through reciprocity within three months of hire date
- If driving for or on behalf of any ECS subsidiary, a valid driver's license is required
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Advanced project management and consulting skills
- Strong business development and client relationship skills
- Extensive knowledge of geotechnical principles and applications
- Strong working knowledge of construction materials testing and ASTM standards
- Proficiency with geotechnical software
- Strong leadership and decision-making abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a consulting environment
- Ability to mentor and develop staff
