Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geology, or a similar field required.
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or similar.
EIT, GIT, P.E., or P.G. certification preferred to demonstrate professional competency.
Valid driver's license required if driving is part of the job.
Military ranks E-6 or higher may qualify if education and license requirements are met.
Responsibilities
Prepare drilling packages and secure utility clearances with guidance.
Research local geologic history to support project needs.
Supervise fieldwork done by drilling/test pit teams, resolving access issues.
Classify soil samples and designate laboratory tests accordingly.
Mentor and facilitate the growth of Project Managers and field technicians.
Compile geotechnical reports with analyses and recommendations, ensuring deadlines are met.

Responsibilities
Primary duties may include assisting with or performing the following with supervision:
Prepare drilling packages and obtain utility clearances
Perform research on local geologic history
Supervise field work performed by drilling/test pit crews and assist with rig access issues
Classify soil and assign laboratory testing
Mentor and support Staff Project Managers, Assistant Staff Project Managers, and technicians in their development
Also involved with preparation of geotechnical reports, including analysis and recommendations with a strong commitment to meet project deadlines
Manage construction materials testing (CMT) projects with daily report review as needed, assist with resolution of issues, and training of field staff on your projects
Prepare both geotechnical and CMT proposals, manage project budgets, and prepare change orders and invoices
Host or attend project meetings with clients to follow up on delivered reports and provide technical solutions as necessary
