Full Job Description
Overview

At Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), we're looking for a Geotechnical Project Manager to join our growing team in greater Boston, MA. You'll work on a wide range of projects across the real estate, power, data center, public infrastructure, and solid waste sectors-delivering geotechnical solutions that shape communities and support critical development. As a project manager, you will have an opportunity to manage large and small projects in our immediate region as well as across the country. If you join CEC, you will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists from many disciplines working together to solve our clients' problems. Recent project examples include reinforced soil slope design for a solid waste facility, implementing several geotechnical instrumentation programs at various CCR sites, and providing subgrade improvement design services for a large renewable energy facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and execute geotechnical subsurface investigations
  • Coordinate and monitor field drilling and sampling operations
  • Prepare boring logs and develop field and laboratory testing programs
  • Analyze lab data and perform geotechnical design calculations (settlement, slope stability)
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and calculation packages of varying complexity
  • Provide design recommendations for building foundation, cut and fill slopes, retaining walls, landslides, and flexible/rigid pavements
  • Prepare geotechnical design submittals for retaining walls, slope repairs, and ground improvement
  • Manage construction materials testing services, including earthwork, foundations (shallow, deep, and ground improvement), concrete, masonry, and asphalt pavement
  • Supervise and mentor technical staff and field personnel
  • Communicate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

At CEC, our employees enjoy a flexible work schedule, with hybrid options. Our comprehensive benefits package includes bonus recognition, based on performance, as well as participation in our employee stock ownership program. Additionally, we conduct mid-year and end-of-year performance reviews and provide goal-setting opportunities.

Applicants will have an option to sit in either our Raynham, MA or Peabody, MA office locations.

The pay range for this position is between $90,000 and $145,000. The hiring range posted is a good faith estimate of what Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. may reasonably offer for the role as outlined. Factors such as additional education and/or experience may influence the actual offering.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology or related field
  • 7+ years of geotechnical experience as either a consultant or a contractor.
  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineering (P.E.) license preferred
  • Experience with geotechnical software such as Slide, RSWall, Settle, RS2, and LPile desirable
