ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Band 3 Geospatial Analysts create, analyze, and interpret moderately complex geospatial data to support U. S. military and policymaker interests. They apply broad knowledge of geographic information science and technology, statistics, spatial thinking, remote sensing, intelligence issues, and the social and physical sciences to characterize events, discover relationships and trends, and produce geospatial intelligence. These analysts select methods and practices to conduct multi-INT research, conduct descriptive analyses, populate and exploit intelligence databases, and produce and disseminate intelligence products. Band 3 Geospatial Analysts develop regional or functional expertise. They maintain relationships with their IC counterparts, international partners, and customers. They may also be expected to support 24/7 operations.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

You must be able to obtain and retain a Top Secret security clearance with access to SCI. In addition, you are subject to a Counterintelligence Polygraph examination in order to maintain access to Top Secret information. All employees are subject to a periodic examination on a random basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Refusal to take the examination may result in denial of access to Top Secret information, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs.

Employees with SCI access and who are under NGA cognizance are required to submit a Security Financial Disclosure Report, SF-714, on an annual basis in order to determine continued eligibility. Failure to comply may negatively impact continued access to Top Secret information, Information Systems, SAP, or unescorted access to SCIFs.

NGA utilizes all processes and procedures of the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Non-executive NGA employees are assigned to five distinct pay bands based on the type and scope of work performed. The employee's base salary is established within their assigned pay band based on their unique qualifications. A performance pay process is conducted each year to determine a potential base pay salary increase and/or bonus. An employee's annual performance evaluation is a key factor in the performance pay process.

This position is a DCIPS position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1601. DoD Components with DCIPS positions apply Veterans' Preference to preference eligible candidates as defined by Section 2108 of Title 5 USC, in accordance with the procedures provided in DoD Instruction 1400.25, Volume 2005, DCIPS Employment and Placement. Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills and/or data analytics to address matters of national concern, such as foreign military, environmental, and/or terrorism.

Demonstrated experience with research and analysis using geospatial information systems (GIS).

Experience disseminating routine information, data, and/or • products to support customer requirements.

Experience using written and oral communication skills to convey information to audiences of various technical capabilities.

Experience gathering information from multiple sources to address routine and non-routine requests.

Experience analyzing geospatial and/or imagery data to determine the likelihood, significance, and/or implications of typical activities or events.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Science, Geography, Physical Science, Data Analytics, Cartography, Statistics, or a related field -OR- a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with a certificate in GIS from an accredited university. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in GIS, spatial analysis, or any area listed in option A, plus experience working in an Intelligence and/or analytical discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience working in an Intelligence and/or analytical discipline requiring creating, analyzing, and interpreting spatial data, or a related area that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT: Distinguish principal colors and shades/hues of principal colors; Near visual acuity of 20/20 or better with or without corrective lenses

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired:

Demonstrated knowledge of analytic processes, tools, or techniques used to manage GEOINT data.

Demonstrated experience creating GIS tools, models, or applications.

Experience writing basic queries to retrieve data for routine requirements.
•Experience keeping stakeholders informed on current issues and policies.

Experience identifying data-gathering methods and sources for routine and non-routine data.

Experience applying geospatial techniques within a GIS platform to draw analytical conclusions for both routine and non-routine situations.
