Responsibilities- Project management of scope, schedule and budget for small, medium and large, long linear land survey projects
- Management of project staff and clients
- Performance and/or oversight of surveying calculations
- Analysis and interpretation of public records research, including deeds, plans and other pertinent documents for the project
- Reviews and certifies work that staff has completed with a high-level of precision and accuracy
- Keeps accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed
- Coordination of field crews and Survey/CAD Technicians
- Perform field checks, manage quality control of all products
- Coordinate survey efforts with other groups in an integrated services environment
Skills and Attributes - Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of Land Surveying, including legal requirements, boundary determinations and ALTA requirements
- Proficient in reading and understanding engineering, architectural, and structural drawings
- Knowledge of applicable state and local surveying board requirements
- Thorough understanding of the use of up-to-date survey technologies and interface with AutoCAD Civil 3D
- Experience with Open Roads Design is preferred
- Ability to direct and monitor construction layout services
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
- Motivated to lead and mentor others
Qualifications- 5+ years of geomatics/land surveying experience, including managing large-scale, complex land surveying projects required
- High school diploma or GED required
- Degree in Survey Engineering, Geomatics, Engineering, or related field preferred and may substitute for some experience
- Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software required
- Professional Land Surveyor license preferred
- Client management and business development experience preferred
- Proficiency in all aspects of field and office land surveying including boundary line and topographic survey as well as construction stakeout preferred
- Experience with electronic instruments, field data collectors, GPS, robotic instruments, remote sensing technologies such as UAV's and terrestrial scanning, LiDAR processing software (Leica Cyclone and global mapper) is preferred
- Experience with ESRI software is preferred
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position is $90,000-130,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
