Description

SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support the NRO GEOINT System Integration & Architecture (GSIA) office. This is a Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support position to assist in defining the future GEOINT space architecture. The candidate will support and lead GEOINT space capability studies and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs). Qualified candidates must possess demonstrated GEOINT satellite experience and be able to provide technical and programmatic insight on the wide variety of GEOINT satellite and ground system capabilities. The successful candidate will work both independently and, in a team-based environment. This position is located in Chantilly, VA and requires an active TS/SCI security clearance with Polygraph (within the last 10 years).

Key duties/responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
  • Work in an interactive team environment with Government customer leads and other subject matter experts to directly support GSIA as the office responsible for GEOINT space capability studies for the NRO.
  • Engage with various NRO and DoD space Directorates, gaining insights into their missions, functions, and organization to develop metrics that demonstrate how customers utilize NRO solutions, thereby enhancing military services and stakeholder engagement within the NRO.
  • Participate in technical space IPTs and working groups providing recommendations to improve space system integration, performance, and ensure GSIA program office equities are protected.
  • Provide technical guidance and integration of space systems, including network, data management, cloud, and other related technologies used across the IC and DoD.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document space program and policy requirements.
  • Understand and have the ability to document the compatibility and interoperability between different systems and technologies.
  • Assess technical performance and modeling and simulation results. Identify risks to program plans and schedules and support development of acquisition plans.
  • Expect Travel within the U.S. approximately 10% of the time.

Qualifications
  • B.S. in Engineering (preferred); or Science, Space related field.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to establish trust-relationships as well as contribute to highly functioning, multi- faceted teams.
  • Experience leading high performance technical teams and demonstrated ability to simultaneously perform multiple tasks.
  • Understanding of the current GEOINT Space providers and their satellite systems. Experience specific to collection and processing methodology, and tasking, command and control, collection, mission processing, and dissemination.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct analysis and evaluations - making recommendations and providing professional advice and assistance to include preparing reports and presentation briefings.
  • Ability to apply technical expertise and summarize information/findings for presentation to Government leadership.
  • Skilled/comfortable working in high-tempo environment, able to be flexible and to adjust to dynamic technical guidance.
