Opportunity OverviewTeam Overview: The Edward Jones Generations® Consulting team serves as the planning and investment consultation group supporting the delivery of financial planning services and implementation of investment solutions to high-net-worth (HNW) clients through direct partnership with financial advisors. We collaborate across Edward Jones Home Office teams and external third-party relationships to deliver high-quality, personalized advice with a particular focus on actionable financial planning, portfolio/product strategy, and services to meet our client's most important wealth management needs.
The Investment Consulting team partners with financial advisors and clients to deliver the high-quality and actionable Advice, Planning, Products, and Services (APPS) required to meet our client's wealth management needs. Through detailed analysis, the team develops and guides the implementation of customized investment solutions connecting goals outlined in client's financial plan to portfolio strategy.
What You Will Do: The Generations Team Leader will lead a team of portfolio consultants holding advanced designations who are responsible for deepening client relationships through the delivery of our HNW client experience, tailored investment advice, and personalized portfolio solutions aligned to what is most important to clients. This team will be responsible for performing discovery, informing asset transition outcomes and developing asset transition strategies, and providing deep investment expertise as it relates to portfolio analytics, investment risk, and portfolio construction. We work in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment, where we welcome fresh perspectives that allow us to continually exceed client expectations in an ever-evolving landscape.
The team leader is expected to run the day-to-day business, including creating and ensuring alignment to all written supervisory procedures (WSPs), standard operating procedures (SOPs) and oversight of risk associated with working directly with branch teams and clients. The team leader is also expected to hold the team accountable to exceeding business results and will be required to ensure all financial planning recommendations are suitable and align to client goals.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute team objectives and drive team performance (feedback, training, and coaching) in support of department and firm objectives.
- Partner with financial advisors and clients to gain understanding of client's needs, aid in documenting client goals, articulate investment strategy and recommendations, identify expertise needed to help the client achieve their goal, and help build relationships with clients and financial advisors.
- Act as an advanced subject matter expert in their area of emphasis and have a strong understanding of investment management topics, broad market opportunities and translate to strategic initiatives within and across various business areas to identify, create, and develop the most advanced client focused business building ideas.
- Act as a resource for firm strategy, knowledge and interpretation of industry rules and regulations, and potential rule changes as it relates to area of expertise and translates to strategic initiatives within various business areas.
- Perform as a subject matter expert on the most advanced portfolio management topics including tools or client solutions to our branches through the various channels available within the department such as webinars and field-based training meetings. This may also include providing expertise for content development and acting as a subject matter expert for formal training programs lead by Enterprise Learning, WMFM Content Creation or other areas.
- Lead department, division, and/or firm-wide committees and projects; demonstrating the ability to influence without authority with peers and senior leaders.
- Manage, create, and ensure adherence to department written supervisory procedures (WSPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for communication with the public, professional designation reviews, and information barriers.
Position RequirementsWhat Experience You Need: - Bachelor's degree required
- CFP or CFA designation highly preferred; must hold the designation or begin the certification process upon hire, and complete it within the firm's policy timeline for each designation.
- Active Series 7, 66, and 24 required or obtained within 6 months of hire
- 11+ years' experience of industry experience
- Ability to travel to target markets up to 20%.
- Experience working with high-net-worth clients and financial advisors
