Full Job Description
Tri-City Group is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to direct field operations across assigned civil construction projects. This position oversees field personnel, labor, equipment, subcontractors, safety, scheduling, productivity, and cost performance while partnering with Project Managers to address operational risks and develop field leaders.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide visible field leadership across one or multiple projects and establish clear expectations for safety, quality, production, schedule, and accountability
  • Translate project plans and commitments into practical field execution strategies in partnership with Project Managers, foremen, and project teams
  • Plan and coordinate manpower, equipment, subcontractors, and other field resources to meet project priorities
  • Monitor labor hours, productivity, equipment utilization, and project progress; address performance gaps early to protect schedule, budget, and profitability
  • Partner with foremen to establish production goals, remove obstacles, solve field issues, and maintain cost-conscious execution
  • Promote and enforce company safety policies, OSHA requirements, site-specific expectations, and proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Develop foremen and field personnel through coaching, feedback, clear expectations, and opportunities that strengthen leadership capability
  • Support workforce planning, hiring, crew assignments, performance accountability, and field employee onboarding
  • Participate in preconstruction planning, constructability reviews, project startup meetings, and turnover discussions
  • Review schedules and field progress, anticipate constraints, and coordinate corrective action before issues affect project commitments
  • Ensure extra work, changed conditions, and out-of-scope activities are identified, documented, and communicated promptly
  • Communicate field performance, project risks, resource needs, client concerns, and improvement opportunities to Project Managers
  • Conduct regular jobsite visits and maintain professional relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal partners
  • Step into direct project leadership when business needs require while continuing to strengthen the division's field organization
  • Review schedules and field progress, anticipate constraints, and coordinate corrective action before issues affect project commitments

This is a full-time position. Workdays and hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 am-4:30 pm. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Work Environment:
  • The position operates in active civil and renewable energy construction environments, field offices, and office settings
  • Regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions, construction noise, dust, and changing temperatures
  • Regular work around vehicle traffic, moving equipment, excavations, utilities, and other construction-related hazards
  • Work surfaces may include uneven, unpaved, elevated, or partially completed areas
  • Work locations and environmental conditions vary based on project assignments


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years of construction field experience
  • Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, or similar leadership position
  • Experience with civil construction, earthwork, utilities, site development, renewable energy, or related work
  • Strong understanding of labor production, scheduling, and equipment management
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and crews
  • Valid driver's license
