ATTENTION MILITARY AFFILIATED JOB SEEKERS - Our organization works with partner companies to source qualified talent for their open roles. The following position is available to Veterans, Transitioning Military, National Guard and Reserve Members, Military Spouses, Wounded Warriors, and their Caregivers. PURPOSE

The General Superintendent plans, organizes, communicates, and controls all aspects of field production work within a designated area. Provides leadership and oversees multiple projects.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervise production scheduling for all trades.
Provide oversight in coordinating activities.
Provide input on job site logistics, organization, project layout, equipment and manpower utilization.
Oversee the scheduling of crews.
Supervise the planning for and ordering of equipment, materials and supplies in all aspects of the process and ensuring they are ready for use when needed.
Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors and suppliers.
Assist in developing programs to motivate and increase skills of associates.
As situations change, coordinate any changes in crews or members of crews; oversee any needed adjustments that will ensure projects are on schedule and within budgets.
Prepare performance evaluations for assigned staff.
Supervise the updating of production schedules.
Work directly with Superintendents to adjust labor according to builder needs and forecast.
Make sure projects are constructed in conformance with contract documents and in accordance with applicable standards, codes, and policies, all within a timely manner.
Check jobs and monitor productivity / team performance of Superintendents, Foremen and crews through the integration of feedback and the development of improvement strategies.
Complete administrative tasks as necessary to ensure the success of the entire team.
Resolve field problems with all stakeholders.
Read/review plan documents with job Superintendent.
Ensure all technical requirements are met and that the finished jobs result in quality products that achieve productivity and profitability goals.
Monitor budgets and schedule.
May need to perform the physical duties of the trades.
Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.
Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.
Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.
Open and responsive to change.
Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.
Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.
Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages employees and/or sub-contractors. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the work produced at the site. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

High school diploma or G.E.D.
At least 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPETENCIES

Must be able to read, analyze, interpret, comprehend, and/or present information; as well as oral and written communication.
Strong utilization of Excel (compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs/ calculate yards and footage).
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Must be able to understand blueprints, regulations and building codes.
May require CPR and First Aid certification.
May require valid driver's license.
May require OSHA Safety Training.
May require trade certification.
