Job Description

Composites Horizons (CHI), a division of PCC Structurals, Inc., is the premier testing developer for new polymer systems. For over forty-five years, Composites Horizons has designed and fabricated composite structures using high temperature polyimide and thermoplastic composites.

Its work is behind many of the current fabrication processes in use today across the industry. CHI has pioneered various tooling and optimized cure cycles for numerous polyimide systems as well as the fabrication of high-temperature composite structures for both military and commercial aircraft applications.

Position Summary

The General Manager provides executive leadership, ensuring the business unit achieves or exceeds its established operational and financial measures. Determines the overall objectives of the business; formulates plans and policies and allocates resources for the achievement of business unit objectives. Exercises control to see that objectives are achieved in accordance with company policy. Is fully accountable for all business unit results.

Direct reports include functional leads for: Continuous Improvement; Engineering; Environmental, Health and Safety; Finance; Human Resources; Operations; Quality; Sales; and Supply Chain.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSBILITIES

  • Manages the P&L and all major site functions, which include operations, finance, sales, human resources, quality, and engineering. When misses occur, develops a credible recovery plan with the team.
  • Responsible for: developing people; process improvement; cost controls, quality monitoring and improvements; and customer service optimization.
  • Prepares timely and comprehensive reports including analysis of financial data, statements, daily flex, weekly battle plan, and monthly and quarterly business reviews. Presents information as required.
  • Performs tactical and strategic planning, consistent with Division and Corporate objectives. Coordinates with appropriate corporate and divisional staff to identify organic and/or acquisition related growth opportunities.
  • Develops and organizes the management resources necessary to direct the major functions of the business. Ensures that an adequate supply of talent exists to staff the short- and long-term needs of the business unit.
  • Assesses the business implications and potential of identified marketing, legislative and financial trends; encourages innovations in testing development, marketing and technology; directs and participates in growth activities of the business unit.
  • Represents the business unit as required on customer visits.
  • Ensures that the business unit operates at the highest level of business ethics. Ensures that the business unit is in compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. Ensures that all reporting is accurate and consistent with appropriate accounting and financial standards. Ensures that all corporate requirements are met.
  • Ensures that quality systems meet or exceed customer and industry standards.
  • Ensures that the interests and welfare of employees are preserved and protected.
  • Drive cost reduction and continuous improvement in the attainment of corporate goals.
  • Establish and execute capital planning efforts supporting manufacturing.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or engineering from an accredited institution; MBA preferred.
  • 10+ years of operations experience in a highly focused, metric driven organization.
  • 5+ years of experience in a aerospace composite manufacturing preferred.
  • 5+ years P&L experience, including sales and marketing leadership highly preferred.


SKILLS
  • Proven analytical, problem solving, and process improvement ability.

  • Application of manufacturing tools, such as Six Sigma, 6S, Theory of Constraints, Lean Manufacturing, etc.

Relocation

Relocation is authorized for this position.

For informational purposes only, the range for annual base salary for this role is $250,000 to $300,000 US Dollar (USD) Salaried based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Executive Bonus Plan, paid out up to 60% of the applicable annual base salary, based on the Company's performance in the prior calendar year. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

The position will be eligible to participate in the Company's Long-Term Incentive Program
