Summary

The General Manager is a member of the Bliss Products and Services leadership team and is responsible for the overall performance of the Lithia Springs, GA branch, including sales, operations, installation, and customer service. This role owns the branch's P&L, sets strategic direction and drives growth across the southeast territory, and builds and leads a team of functional leaders across sales, operations, and installation to deliver playground and recreation equipment projects that reflect PlayCore's commitment to quality and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Promotes the Company's mission and values-based culture through visible, active leadership across the branch, job sites, and customer interactions.
2. Provides strategic oversight of the branch's sales, operations, installation, and service functions, delegating day-to-day execution to functional leaders while driving growth and ensuring a superior customer experience.
3. Safety - Ensures the Operations team maintains a strong safety culture and full compliance with OSHA, playground/CPSI safety standards, and PlayCore and Bliss Products safety policies across all job sites, holding leaders accountable for results.
4. Quality - Ensures the Operations team upholds quality control standards for equipment installation, site work, and customer deliverables, holding leaders accountable for compliance with manufacturer specifications and customer expectations.
5. Productivity - Monitors branch productivity and profitability, partnering with Operations leadership to identify and implement process improvements.
6. Ensures Operations coordinates effectively with manufacturing partners, vendors, and subcontractors - including but not limited to PlayCore's - to secure timely procurement, delivery, and installation of playground and recreation equipment.
7. Overall responsible for the branch's sales and operations performance; provides leadership, coaching, and direction to functional leaders (e.g., Sales Manager, Operations Manager), who directly supervise sales representatives, project managers, installation crews, and administrative staff. Sets goals and conducts performance reviews for direct reports.
8. Reporting - Prepares and presents branch P&L, sales forecasts, backlog, and key performance metrics to PlayCore leadership on a regular basis.
9. Other duties may be assigned by Manager or Supervisor.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Minimum 7-10 years of progressive sales, operations, or general management experience, preferably in playground equipment, site amenities, construction, or related distribution industries; prior P&L ownership and team leadership required. Certified Playground Safety Inspector (CPSI) preferred; ability to become a licensed qualifying agent in applicable jurisdictions is a plus. Engineering, technical design, or construction engineering background is a plus, given the technical complexity of playground and recreation equipment installation projects

Travel

Approximately 10-20% travel within the branch's territory to visit customer sites, job sites, and trade shows, with occasional travel to PlayCore's Chattanooga, TN headquarters. Travel requirements may increase over time as the role and territory evolve.

Computer Skills

Demonstrated proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access

Other Requirements

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to travel independently by car and air. Ability to visit active playground and park construction sites, which may require walking on uneven terrain. Ability to meet requirements for access to secured facilities such as military installations, school campuses, and government sites, including background checks and any jurisdiction-specific credentialing.

Other Skills

Ability to partner effectively with engineering and technical resources to address complex installation challenges is valuable, given the technical depth this role requires.
