Job Description
General Manager, TIMET Henderson, Nevada
PRIMARY FUNCTION
Plans and directs manufacturing operations for TIMET's Henderson, NV facility. Builds and develops operation's organization, processes, and procedures to support annual operating plans, HSE compliance, and strategic direction. Establishes operations initiatives for improvement of health, safety and environmental activities, customer service, quality, equipment reliability, product costs, and employee relations.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND SPECIFIC DUTIES
The Plant Manager is responsible for directing manufacturing operations through department managers to ensure optimum utilization of manpower and equipment.
Establishes operational standards for safety, on-time delivery, quality, equipment reliability, cost control, and waste reduction.
Plans, prepares and executes financial budgets.
Establishes manufacturing policies in TOC and/or Lean Manufacturing techniques, material usage, shipping and receiving, capacity utilization, production scheduling, safety, customer satisfaction, employee relations and performance measures.
Directs implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and continuous improvement practices.
Oversees the implementation of manufacturing schedules, manpower and facilities requirements, quality control, production, production control standards and safety programs.
Recommends and implements strategic changes in manufacturing and operations strategy to meet the strategic objectives of the Henderson facility and TIMET.
Insures prompt and economical receipt of needed materials, supplies and manpower to support on-time delivery of finished products to customers.
Builds, develops and manages a manufacturing leadership team capable of carrying out needed manufacturing strategies and improving employee relations.
Provides leadership in problem identification and resolution to facilitate continuous improvement and improved working relationships.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
Bachelors degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Business Administration or related field (Masters Preferred).
Technical skills in continuous improvement techniques: Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, TOC, etc.
7-10 years minimum with 10+ years preferred; manufacturing management experience within an organized, multifunctional workforce environment.
Relocation is authorized for this position.
This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)).
