Position Overview Mercedes-Benz North Vancouver is looking for a
General Manager to lead the dealership with a clear focus on customer experience, variable performance, and team development.
This is a hands-on leadership role. The successful candidate will be actively involved in the day-to-day business, driving sales performance, building a strong appointment culture, and ensuring the team is aligned, accountable, and focused on results.
This role reports directly to the Director of Operations and is responsible for the overall performance of the dealership, with a strong emphasis on Variable Operations.
We are open to developing the right candidate. Previous General Manager experience is not required, but a strong foundation within an automotive dealership is essential.
Compensation for this position is commission based. Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Lead the dealership with a variable-driven mindset, focused on volume, gross, and disciplined inventory management
• Build, coach, and develop a high-performing team across sales and supporting departments
• Drive a strong appointment culture and ensure consistent execution from lead to delivery
• Be actively involved in the business - desking deals, supporting managers, and working with the team on the floor
• Ensure dealership processes are followed, reinforced, and continuously improved
• Create accountability through daily and weekly performance reviews and structured meetings
• Maintain a high level of customer focus across all touchpoints
• Work closely with department leaders to align strategy, execution, and results
• Represent the dealership with professionalism to customers, staff, and manufacturer partners
Qualifications Required • Experience working within an automotive dealership environment is required (Sales Manager, GSM, General Manager or similar)
• Strong understanding of how a dealership operates, particularly within Variable Operations
• Proven ability to drive performance, coach people, and build a team culture
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
• Customer-focused, competitive, and results-driven
• Willing to learn, adapt, and execute within a structured approach
• Strong communication and leadership presence
• Experience with dealership systems (180, CDK, or equivalent) is an asset
• Valid VSA License (or ability to obtain)
• Legally entitled to work in Canada
