GENERAL MANAGER

Position Summary

The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, financial performance, strategic direction, and long-term success of the facility. This position has full accountability for Profit & Loss (P&L), customer satisfaction, operational performance, organizational capability, workforce development, and execution of company objectives.

The General Manager provides leadership to all functional areas, including Operations, Quality, Engineering, Materials, Supply Chain, Human Resources, Finance, Sales Support, and other support functions. The role is responsible for building a high-performing leadership team capable of delivering sustainable business results while maintaining a safe, customer-focused, and employee-focused culture.

The General Manager establishes the vision, priorities, and direction of the business while ensuring operational excellence, financial performance, organizational development, and strategic growth objectives are achieved.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Establish and communicate the overall vision, direction, and priorities for the facility.
  • Develop short-term and long-term business plans.
  • Align site objectives with corporate goals and strategy.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and business risks.
  • Lead organizational transformation and change initiatives.
  • Ensure the organization has the leadership capability required for future growth.


Financial Management

  • Own facility Profit & Loss performance.
  • Develop and manage annual operating budgets.
  • Monitor revenue, margins, profitability, labor costs, inventory, and capital expenditures.
  • Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement, and margin enhancement initiatives.
  • Review financial performance and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Ensure responsible stewardship of company assets.


Operational Oversight

  • Hold the Operations Manager accountable for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity performance.
  • Ensure systems and leadership capability exist to consistently achieve operational objectives.
  • Review operational performance trends and remove barriers to success.
  • Support capital investments, resource allocation, and capacity planning activities.
  • Ensure operational strategies support business objectives.


Quality & Customer Satisfaction

  • Promote a culture where quality is a core business principle.
  • Support the Quality organization in maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as executive sponsor for major customer concerns, audits, and corrective action initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key customers.
