Who You'll Work With

The Client Partner (Director), Public and Social Impact is accountable for strategic account leadership, account growth, and delivery excellence across a portfolio of public sector clients. This role shifts the balance toward account strategy, go to market leadership, and team leadership, while maintaining selective involvement in delivery to ensure quality and alignment. This role acts as a market and culture ambassador, representing Slalom's values with clients and within the broader community.

What You'll Do

  • Own and execute account strategies that drive sustained growth, client satisfaction, and long-term partnership.
  • Serve as the senior relationship owner for key accounts, engaging executive and C-level stakeholders.
  • Lead business development efforts, including pipeline development, pursuit leadership, proposal oversight, and contract negotiation.
  • Oversee delivery across multiple engagements, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment to client objectives.
  • Collaborate with capability leaders and cross-functional teams to bring the full breadth of Slalom offerings to clients.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing account teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth (if applicable).
  • Represent Slalom externally through client forums, industry events, and thought leadership activities.
  • Contribute to market-level planning, forecasting, and operational management.
  • Partner closely with a dedicated seller to identify, pursue, and close strategic opportunities across the public sector.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships within state government (and other public sector) organizations, serving as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders.
  • Drive growth within existing state government accounts.
  • Leverage existing relationships and solution pipelines to accelerate account growth and market presence.
  • Navigate complex state government ecosystems, procurement processes, and contracting vehicles to position Slalom effectively for future opportunities.
  • Demonstrate a business-builder mindset by identifying emerging opportunities, creating account expansion strategies, and contributing to the development of the regional public sector practice.


What You'll Bring

  • 10+ years of consulting or professional services experience, including senior client leadership roles.
  • Proven success growing and managing large, complex client accounts.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills, with experience leading complex pursuits
  • Accountable for achieving a 40% utilization target and $5M+ revenue target.
  • Ability to influence and advise senior leaders
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams in a consulting environment.
  • Deep understanding of the public sector, with a particular focus on state government environments.
  • Established experience working with state government agencies
  • Knowledge of government procurement processes, contracting vehicles, funding models, and technology-related initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with technology organizations, digital transformation initiatives, or consulting engagements serving public sector clients.
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with sellers, delivery leaders, capability leaders, and client stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution in a growth-oriented environment.

For this role, we are hiring at the following levels and targeted base pay salary ranges: The targeted base salary pay range for Nashville is $164,000 to $246,000. In addition, individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Actual compensation will depend upon an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and other relevant factors. The salary pay range is subject to change and may be modified at any time.
