Full Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced General Foreperson to join our Infrastructure team on a high-profile LRT project in Edmonton. This is a long-term opportunity for a motivated civil construction leader who thrives in fast-paced infrastructure environments and enjoys being heavily involved in field operations

Reporting to the Superintendent, the General Foreperson will play a key role in coordinating and executing civil works activities including earthworks, drainage, underground services, and heavy equipment operations across multiple work fronts.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate daily earthworks, drainage, and civil construction activities
  • Lead and supervise crews including heavy equipment operators, labourers, pipelayers, and subcontractors
  • Maintain strong field presence with approximately 80% field-based and 20% office duties
  • Support planning, scheduling, and execution of work to meet project timelines efficiently and safely
  • Monitor productivity, crew performance, and material/equipment needs and resolve field issues and constraints
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Ledcor's health, safety, quality and environmental standards across all site activities


Requirements
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role in civil or infrastructure construction, with a strong focus on earthworks and drainage
  • Experience on LRT construction projects desirable
  • Proven ability to lead civil crews and subcontractors and coordinate complex work scopes
  • Knowledge of quality assurance and field coordination practices
  • Ability to read, interpret and understand drawings
  • Strong understanding of construction planning, scheduling, and execution
  • Valid driver's license and clear 3-year drivers Abstract
  • Safety certifications - CSTS, Ground Disturbance 201, WHMIS (training provided)


Work Conditions
  • Monday to Friday and most Saturdays during the construction season, 10 hours per day on average
  • Work in all weather conditions year-round and willing to lend a hand where needed
