General Foreman - Maintenance

Location:

Metallurgical Complex - Columbus, MT

Schedule:

5x2, 4x3 9hr Shifts

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

At Sibanye-Stillwater, the Maintenance General Foreman is responsible for providing direct supervision for maintenance staff and hourly personnel, establishing and maintaining safety and production work standards, continued optimization of operational systems, understanding and articulating the specific short term and the general, longer-term goals of the company, budget development and adherence, and is a champion of on-going project initiatives. The General Foreman is the owner and has accountability for achieving the short- and medium-term asset management plan.
  • Foster an inclusive environment of cooperation, collaboration, and innovation to ensure that site production goals are understood and efficiently supported.
  • Provide leadership for safe and productive operations.
  • Actively support and contribute to the development of Safety and Health Management and Environmental systems and regulatory compliance.
  • Interviews, selects candidates and ensures training of new staff in the department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the department.
  • Provides constructive and timely performance management feedback and evaluations for direct reports.
  • Lead maintenance team to ensure maximum productivity and equipment availability by safely optimizing operating systems and procedures.
  • Work with site senior leadership team in continuing development of a focused, engaged culture throughout the organization.
  • Establish and execute one week to three-month maintenance plan that supports the growth of the operation.
  • Be pro-active in all aspects of the maintenance function; safety, environmental, effective and efficient utilization of resources, productivity, continuous Improvement initiatives, and teamwork across the site.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Understanding of safety and environmental procedures, maintenance, and machinery functions in an industrial/process environment.
  • Ability to communicate with technical specialists and to interpret technical drawings and specification documents.
  • Understanding and experience in reliability, maintenance concepts and principals (predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Experienced in planning and scheduling of maintenance and project activities.
  • Proficient in computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, Projects), CMMS and other department specific systems.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma and 5 years of relevant experience in a supervisory, lead or equivalent position.
  • Post-Secondary education in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Experience with OSHA/MSHA regulations.
  • Project management experience.
  • Any combination of the above.
