Position Overview

The Field Application Engineer 3 plays a key role in driving technical wins, customer adoption, and expansion through pre-sales support, solution recommendations, and account-focused technical guidance. This role builds relationships with individual contributors and first-line managers, assesses customer needs, and supports the development of impactful sales campaigns in partnership with account teams.

Field AEs act as trusted technical advisors, lead smaller-scale technical initiatives, support evaluations and deployments, and provide mentorship to junior Field AEs as they build expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and manage relationships with individual contributors and first-level management to understand technical needs and influence sales strategies.
  • Increase customer awareness of Siemens EDA solutions within assigned technical specialty; deliver compelling technical presentations that highlight product value.
  • Identify customer technical and business requirements, analyze competitive factors, and provide actionable insights to shape sales campaigns.
  • Collaborate closely with Account Technology Managers, Technical Account Managers, and Account Managers to align on customer challenges and jointly execute engagement plans.
  • Share account updates, evaluation outcomes, competitive information, and technology challenges with sales teams, management, and R&D; act as a trusted customer advocate.
  • Manage technical benchmarks, evaluations, and engagements to successful outcomes by coordinating resources across Divisions, Support, and Services-seeking guidance from senior Field AEs as needed.
  • Drive product adoption by creating methodologies, integrating Siemens EDA tools into customer flows, and supporting pilot deployments.
  • Provide recommendations to Account Managers on appropriate license mixes and product configurations.
  • Execute deployment plans effectively by anticipating obstacles and delivering technical resolutions; enhance customer value through flow optimization and cross-portfolio solutions.
  • Enable customer advocates to promote tool standardization within their organizations.
  • Support customer issue resolution and engage Support AEs when appropriate to maintain customer satisfaction and business continuity.
  • Mentor one or more new Field AEs, providing functional guidance, sharing experiences, and offering cross-training support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Siemens EDA product features, competitive technologies, and go-to-market strategies through ongoing training.

The pay range for this position is 125,300 - 250,600 annually with a target incentive of 20 of the base salary. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
