The Opportunity

As the Functional Lead, Medical & Customer Experience, you will drive enterprise-aligned strategy and high-impact financial decision-making. You are responsible for shaping investments, ensuring resource optimization, and delivering on financial commitments in a high-pressure, agile environment. This role is critical in shaping the customer facing workforce and enabling trade-offs and
timely division making for critical transitions in portfolio in the next 5 years.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Serving as the strategic finance lead for Medical & CE, ensuring resources and outcomes align with the CMG strategy. The role will be responsible for influencing and bringing full P&L accountability to the leadership teams of CE and Medical. Moreover, it will be responsible for connecting with Squads and helping drive the right prioritization across CMG investments in CE & Medical (USM).

  • Financial Discipline: Owning delivery against financial commitments and using data to shape decision making and influence trade-offs to drive performance as per company’s needs.

  • Decision Support: Driving high-impact decisions through structured tradeoff analysis complex tradeoffs with precision. Ability to influence and connect with several stakeholders and curiosity to learn and partner.

  • Resource Management: Allocating resources to maximize ROI and portfolio impact while anchoring functional plans in enterprise value creation.

  • Key Stakeholders: Senior CMG leaders, two Executives of CMG will be the counterparts, cross-functional stakeholders in USM and CE, and the broader Finance organization.

  • Level of Influence: Must influence cross-functional stakeholders to align priorities and resources.

  • Exposure: High frequency of managing executive stakeholders with assertiveness and confidence.

  • Network Building: Building strong, collaborative networks across USM, CE, and Finance to translate P&L performance into strategic narratives.

  • Financial Oversight: Direct responsibility for managing and delivering against assigned project budgets and financial commitments.

  • Team Leadership: Leads and manages a team effectively, coaching them to strengthen financial discipline and decision quality.

  • Performance Management: Responsible for managing performance to ensure the team delivers results in line with enterprise-aligned priorities.

Who You Are
  • Education: University degree in Business or Life Sciences; MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 12+ years of progressive finance experience (Pharma/Life Sciences preferred) with a proven leadership track record.

  • Champions digital upskilling and the application of AI/digital tools
    across the function to elevate insights.

  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen.

  • Ability to influence without authority and navigate cross-functional environments.

  • Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication skills — able to translate complex data into clear insights.

  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, resource-constrained organization.

  • High attention to detail with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $191,500 - $355,600.  Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.  This position also qualifies for the benefits detailed at the link provided below.
