About the Role:
Mount Airy Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Unit Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our designated unit. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, staff supervision, and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise and support nursing staff: Lead and mentor a team of nursing professionals to provide exceptional patient care and achieve facility goals.
• Ensure all patients/resident care is delivered according to facility policies, state regulations, and professional standards: Foster a culture of compliance and quality care, ensuring that all patients receive evidence-based care.
• Participate in clinical care as needed, including assessments, medication administration, and care planning: Stay current with clinical practices and provide guidance to nursing staff.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team: Streamline the admission and discharge process to ensure seamless transitions for patients and families.
• Conduct regular unit rounds to monitor quality of care, infection control, and safety practices: Identify areas for improvement and implement strategies to enhance patient outcomes.
• Serve as the point of contact for families, addressing questions, concerns, and updates: Provide exceptional customer service and maintain open communication with families and loved ones.
• Supports compliance with documentation, reporting, and regulatory requirements: Ensure accurate and timely reporting of patient data and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Respond to nursing emergencies and provide guidance to staff: Demonstrate a deep understanding of nursing practices and provide support during emergency situations.
• Be available for on-call coverage as scheduled (approximately one weekend a month): Contribute to a seamless continuity of care by providing on-call support to the team.
Qualifications:
• Current and active RN License: Maintain a valid and active license to practice as a licensed nurse.
• Minimum 3 years of clinical nursing experience: previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred: Leverage your clinical expertise and leadership skills to drive success in this role.
• Strong knowledge of nursing standards, practices, and regulatory requirements: Stay current with industry developments and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and quality care.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills: Utilize your exceptional communication and organizational skills to lead and motivate the nursing team.
• Ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a nursing team: Foster a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Working Conditions:
• Day shift, Monday-Friday, with on-call rotation: Enjoy a predictable schedule with occasional on-call coverage.
