Minimum Annual Salary: $99,557.00

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Program Support Specialist provides administrative oversight, coordination, and programmatic support to ensure that special education classrooms and programs within the IU are operating effectively, compliantly, and in alignment with applicable federal and Pennsylvania special education requirements. This position supports administrators by reviewing program structures, systems, and procedures; monitoring overall program functioning; and providing administrative guidance to promote consistency, compliance, and continuous improvement. The role is non-instructional and non-supervisory in nature and does not include direct teaching, instructional evaluation, or professional supervision of certified staff.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Education Required:
  • Master's degree in Special Education, Educational Administration, or a related field required.

Experience Required:
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in special education as a licensed or certified educator, administrator, or supervisor.
  • Demonstrated experience with special education program knowledge, compliance, and systems-level support.

Other Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of IDEA, Pennsylvania Chapter 14 regulations, and special education compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze program data and identify strengths and areas for improvement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, and support staff.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across school buildings.
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver's license and current auto insurance.
