Lorain County Community College (LCCC) invites applications for the position of Dean of Health and Wellness Sciences. The Health and Wellness Sciences Division is a dynamic academic division with an excellent reputation in the Northeast Ohio region, offering courses and program pathways that help students achieve their educational and career goals while contributing to the region's healthcare workforce needs. This position provides direct leadership for bachelor's and associate degrees, certificate programs, and non-credit programming for healthcare professionals. The Dean reports to the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success and provides academic and administrative leadership for the Division.

The next Dean will serve as a key external-facing leader with the healthcare sector, building strategic relationships with healthcare systems, employers, professional associations, and community partners to anticipate workforce needs, develop innovative talent solutions, and strengthen the region's healthcare pipeline. The Dean will help shape programs that prepare students for high-demand healthcare careers, expand responsive partnerships with employers and educational partners, and advance THRIVE 2035 priorities related to student success, talent development, and regional economic vitality.
The Dean is responsible for ensuring that division programs, courses, activities, and events advance the priorities and initiatives within the College's strategic vision, THRIVE 2035. Guided by the College's mission and vision, the Dean serves as a key external-facing leader for LCCC within the healthcare sector; builds and sustains strategic relationships with healthcare employers, systems, and industry leaders; and works collaboratively with partners to identify emerging talent needs and develop responsive education, training, and workforce solutions.
The Dean provides leadership for the academic disciplines within the division; strengthens partnerships with high schools, career technical centers, transfer institutions, healthcare employers, and community partners; and helps position the division as a driver of student success, workforce responsiveness, and regional vitality. The Dean represents the division in partnership and articulation endeavors, meetings with local employers and professional organizations, and statewide conversations as needed. The Dean has overall responsibility for the utilization of assigned facilities, program development and evaluation, faculty and staff supervision, and communication.
The Dean provides strategic leadership in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous enhancement of the division's educational programs and services. The Dean fosters a cooperative and collaborative environment; guides curriculum review and improvement; leads the development and adoption of new programs, courses, and services aligned with the College's guided pathways model; facilitates articulation agreements with other institutions and agencies in cooperation with instructional staff; and uses internal and external needs analyses to determine programmatic and service priorities.
The Dean develops and implements a divisional strategic enrollment plan, ensures compliance with accreditation and certification standards of agencies and governing bodies, directs the divisional planning process, and fosters an open environment for addressing student needs and concerns. The Dean champions innovation in teaching and learning, explores emerging technologies that enhance student success and workforce readiness, and promotes continuous improvement across all programs and services.
The Dean directs and manages the operational aspects of the division; addresses students' needs related to division activities; oversees facilities that house the division and its activities, including coordination with Facilities Services on needed equipment, maintenance, and repairs; and completes annual objectives mutually determined with the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs and Student Success, including personal and professional growth plans.
The successful candidate will be a collaborative, student-centered leader with the vision to advance academic excellence, foster innovation, strengthen workforce partnerships, support faculty and staff success, and drive measurable outcomes aligned with THRIVE 2035. The candidate will bring administrative leadership experience in higher education or the healthcare industry, knowledge of health, physical education, wellness programs, and program accreditation, and a demonstrated commitment to student success, high-quality academic programs, continuous improvement, and collaborative leadership.

Qualifications
Qualifications: A master's degree in an appropriate discipline and demonstrated leadership in higher education or the healthcare industry are required. College teaching experience and an earned doctorate or other appropriate terminal degree are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading accredited health sciences programs; Demonstrated success building workforce, employer, and community partnerships; Experience securing grants, external resources, or strategic partnerships; Experience leading strategic enrollment growth, program innovation, and organizational change; Demonstrated ability to use data and evidence to drive decision-making, continuous improvement, and student success outcomes.
