Assigned Duties of Infection Preventionist The Infection Preventionist is responsible for the implementation and review of the facility's infection prevention program and the antibiotic stewardship program.- Conducts rounds, discusses and monitors infection prevention practices with staff members
- Colllects infection data from residents and departments
- Maintains records for each health care associated infection
- Conducts outbreak investigation
- Trains staff members on implementation of infection prevention practices
- Ensures availability of supplies required for infection prevention activities
- Ensure completion of surveillance forms for infections
- Implementation of the antibiotic stewardship program/monthly meeting
Shift: M-F (Flexibility with work schedules such as on weekends and extra shifts)
Salary: $41.00- $43.00 per hour based on experience.
Requirements/Qualifications:- Current license as a Vocational Nurse in California. Current CPR
- Graduation from an accredited school of professional nursing or from a national or state- approved school of vocational nursing
- Ability to converse in a professional manner with doctors, residents, staff members and peers
- Ability to transcribe and articulate detailed information in a profession manner to meet rules and regulations for long-term care
- Demonstrate knowledge of and ability to apply basic principles of nursing care
- Experience and/or education in the care of the aged, chronically ill, restorative nursing, psychiatric nursing, and supervision
- One or more years' experience as a staff nurse is desirable
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with personnel and resident
- Demonstrates evidence of interest in continuous professional growth. Possesses a genuine interest and ability to work with geriatric and disabled person
- Demonstrates a willingness and ability to work under supervision and to supervise persons assisting in resident care
- Possesses initiative, dependability and skill in recognition and identification of symptoms and treatment responses
- Possesses resourcefulness in emergency situations
- Possesses genuine respect for others and acceptance of their individual social and cultural traits
