Job Description

Range: $129,850 - $164,325

Direct and manage the fryer production area of Chicken Live Production so to produce the number and quality of fryers, Cornish hens, and roasters needed to meet the annual production schedule at a competitive cost.

Includes:
  • Assuring compliance with the division plan for quality, body weights, feed conversion, condemnation, and livability so to meet the production schedule.
  • Coordinating with and informing all respective areas of any information which could affect decisions or influence bird performance.
  • Implementing and monitoring field compliance with disease control, quality control, and grow out programs.
  • Managing the maintenance of fryer production facilities, equipment and landscaping.
  • Manage the cost per pound of fryers, Cornish hens, and roasters.
  • Provide cost saving initiatives to lower cost to achieve and maintain to industry standards.
  • Cost control to meet company's goals on cost control.
  • Work closely with Maintenance team to maintain housing standards and cost control.
    • Includes
      • Preparing, submitting, and administering an annual budget.
      • Monitoring grow out and energy conservation programs and labor so to produce a pound of product at a price competitive with the top 10% of the industry.
  • Monitor the cleanup/setup functions of all grow out ranches. Includes insuring compliance with quality control, disease control, and cost requirements.
  • Supervise the training and development of department personnel.
    • Includes:
      • Motivating employees awareness and their desire to comply with company disease prevention and safety policies.
      • Stimulating, monitoring, and evaluating employees performance.
      • Maintaining a positive employer/employee relations environment within the Fryer Production Department


Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Poultry Science or related field.
  • Three to five years of business management (or related ) experience.
  • Strong supervisory and communication skills.
  • Strong animal husbandry skills for broiler production.
  • Ability to multi-task.
