Responsibilities

  • Analyze month-end actuals versus forecasts, preparing detailed variance analyses
  • Collaborate with the Corporate FP&A team on P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash flow
  • Prepare and present monthly forecast reviews to executive leadership
  • Maintain and report on the CAE backlog pipeline and unfunded projects
  • Contribute to the development of the annual operating plan and strategic outlook
  • Coordinate with Program finance on the use of the Adaptive planning tool
  • Monitor KPIs and track trends to identify risks and opportunities

Summary

The FP&A analyst II will be asked to cover financial reporting on orders, backlog, P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash flow. Reporting and analyzing these on a weekly, monthly and creation of the annual operating plan for ELT. Will work cross functionally with all finance departments to ensure streamlined communication and detailed forecasting to mitigate risk and realize upside.

  • Analyze Month end actuals against forecast and prepare detailed analysis on the variances/trends
  • Work alongside Corporates FP&A team, analyzing different requirements that fall within the Profit & loss as well as Balance Sheet, and Cash flow
  • Prepare monthly forecast review that gets reviewed with executive leadership.
  • Update and maintain CAE Backlog pipeline as well as unfunded to report monthly to corp
  • Annually work on the detailed operating plan as well as strategy outlook
  • Coordinate with Program finance on cadence and utilization of our enterprise tool Adaptive planning
  • Monitor KPI9s and track variances to identify root cause, trends, risks and opportunities

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelors degree
  • 2-5 years working in Finance, or relevant experience that involves forecasting and analyzing trends
  • Microsoft office with a strong understanding in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Mentor, self-starter who can be detailed in explaining complex topics
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.

Preferred Skills

  • Costpoint experience
  • Adaptive experience
